I’m a teacher also and I do it all the time. You’ll have to give them a good shake before drinking them but they are fine that way.

I make mine in the AM, around 7:00, and drink them for a snack at 10:30 AM. This week they’ve been spinach, banana, strawberries and coconut water. I carry and store them in an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack inside, and that does the trick. They’re definitely not gross by the time I drink them!

I couldn’t survive if that was my lunch!  Well I don’t add protein to mine normally just fruits, veggies, yogurt, little juice.

But I do make one and bring it to work for a snack.  I eat it either at 10:30 or 4:30 depending.  I just put it in the fridge until I’m ready.

@lealorali:  I don’t, but I wouldn’t find it weird. Do it!

There was a time I was so active, my food was pretty much just geared towards keeping me moving. So, lots of calories and healthy stuff only. I was eating plain boiled potatoe cubes out of a ziplock bag when someone pointed out THAT was weird. (It was a nutrition thing! Something something potassium.) My coworkers would probably have raised fewer eyebrows if I had a protein shake instead.

@lealorali:  I don’t, but that seems like a brilliant idea. I’m a teacher too and I have soup every single day. I usually have a protein shake and a cup of coffee for breakfast.

I don’t. The whey protein I use seems like it gets gross (ferments maybe?) pretty quickly. I drink them right away, but have noticed that the cup gets sick pretty fast if I don’t wash it right away.

Maybe that’s just the kind I use…

I suggest getting a “Blender Bottle” from a fitness store or Bed Bath & Beyond.

I hate when my smoothie begins to separate. I tend to prepare in the blender, and if I won’t be drinking it for a while, I’ll use a blender bottle so it is well mixed before I drink it.
