Fiance said he needed to order his wedding band (he’s already picked it out), but it just occurred to me: Am I supposed to buy it? Or is he?
Most of our money is in a joint account, so it probably doesn’t matter but the symbolism is still there.

I’m not married, or even engaged, but I was always under the assumption that a bride and groom choose together and then the bride purchases the band. And of course, then the groom would purchase the bride’s band.

We went shopping together but it was 100% FI’s decision. Technically, he was also the one to pull out his card (to our shared account) too. Traditionally the bride chooses the ring and pays for it.

I bought Fi’s. He went to the store and picked it out first, then came home with the style # and size for me.

he told me what he liked but i paid for it

We went into Jared’s together to get our rings. We picked what we liked for ourselves. My ring went on his credit card, and his ring went on my credit card.
A few weeks after the wedding we closed our individual checking accounts and opened a joint (and consolidated our savings accounts), so it really doesn’t matter in the end since both cards are now paid for out of the same acct. But like someone else said, the symbolism was there.

We have shared bank accounts and we are each picking out our rings, and buying them together.

We have shared bank accounts and picked matching bands. Since I am doing most wedding stuff and he can order the bands while at work he will be orderring them for the two of us. This honestly came down to convenience and nothing else.

Now that I’m thinking about it, we totally discussed this and decided that I would handle it. He bought mine, I buy his.
FI’s so sweet though, I’m in the middle of cleaning out our old place after moving on short notice, I mentioned it and he said I had enough on my plate. I’m still going to try to wrangle this project out of his hands though.

He basically told me what he was looking for, so I sent him pictures and links of a bazillion rings. He narrowed it down, and we both picked out the perfect ring. We paid for it from a joint account

I bought my husband’s wedding band, and he bought mine.

We chose together and I bought it 🙂

We went shopping together and I bought it. Our accounts were still separate at the time.

He is picking it out- we are buying together- shared bank accounts.

I don’t think it should matter who pays for it.
