gpiglet:  Normally it is the ring bearer who carries the ring pillow. If you are not having a ring bearer, you can certainly choose to have it carried by the flower girl (she really couldn’t toss flowers in this case). If the MOH/BM carry the rings they carry it in their pocket or on their finger, no pillow.

gpiglet:  This is definetly something a child does. Typically, the ring bearer. If no ring bearer, then either have the flowergirl do it – or have no pillow and the best man will have the rings in his pocket. It would look silly to have an adult carry a child’s pillow down the aisle (but I bet you’d get a good chuckle out of it haha).

We are not having a ring bearer and only one flower girl so the Best Man will hold the rings. If I had two flower girls I would have no problem having one do flowers and the other carry a ring pillow.

The Best Man and/or MOH should always have the real rings. Never trust little kids with real rings!

If you are having two little girls as attendents, it would be fine to have one toss flowers and the other carry a little pillow with fake rings. It would also be fine to have them both toss flowers and not bother with the pillow and fake rings. My only concern with one tossing flowers and the other carrying the rings/pillow would be that one might get jealous of the other role. Just something to think about, if that’s the route you choose to go.

gpiglet:  If the girl who is carrying the rings is only handed the basket the moment she starts to walk down the aisle, she really can’t lose the rings. Just don’t let her have it to run around with while getty ready. She can practice at the rehearsal with the basket with no rings.

Im having my ringbearer carry the pillow, with fake rings attached to it. The best man will carry my ring, and my MOH will carry my fiance’s ring. That little boy is too wild to carry the real rings. If you dont have a RB then its fine to have a little girl carry the pillow. Or just forget the pillow and have the girl toss petals, which is a tradition for fertility so if you want to have kids, it would be best not to skip that tradition.

If you want to avoid the issue of the second flower girl losing the rings, you could do what I’m doing – instead of a pillow, we’re using a ring bearer box. I bought a simple box, that clasps, from Michaels’ for around $1 and painted it myself. Simple, cute, and solves the problem of losing the rings.

My ring bearer ended up tripping and falling just before entering the church, so we had our flower girl do double duty and carry the rings too. Granted we didn’t have her tossing any petals, she was walking down the aisle with a kissing ball so it didn’t end up looking weird that she had the rings and the flowers. (We also didn’t use a pillow…)

We can’t use petals at our venue.  So our 3 (!) flower girls are carrying kissing balls.  The RB is carrying a pillow with fake rings tied to it.

Our real rings will be with our Jr. Bridesmaid (FI’s neice.  She’ll be 13 at the time.)
