It took me a few seconds to realize you're not talking about a stage. :) You totally invite other friends to the party besides BMs but be sure the friends are also invited to the wedding.
My 3 BM's were invited and then about 5 of my closes friends and both my sister-in-laws.
I think you can invite whoever you want to your stagette.

Hello!
I have chosen to have only 3 bridesmaids, and no MOH. I didn't want hierarchy among my friends!
I am marrying another woman, and she also has 3 attendants, "butch-maids" we're calling them (LOL!).
It's a ways off, but I'm wondering, is it typically only the bridal party that comes along for the fun of the stagette? We are planning to join up for part of the evening so there will be all 8 of us, but then go off and do our own things.
Does anyone invite other friends along that aren't BMs?
