I’m going to be getting ready at a hotel and FI will be getting ready at the best man’s bachelor pad with.
I just realised that with my Mum, three best friends and the cousin who’s doing my hair, there’ll be six of us crammed into a tiny hotel room! Seven if we get a photographer to cover anything before the ceremony!
If you’re not getting ready in the family homes, what would the parents be doing all day? Is it polite to invite MIL to get ready with the girls?
I’d love to hear who you and your groom got ready with on the day. And what everyone’s parents got up to on the day if they weren’t getting ready with you.

We had separate hotel rooms the day of the wedding. My husband was kind enough to upgrade my room to a large suite to accommodate me, MoH, two bridesmaids (his sisters), my mom, his mom, and my grandmother. We had three hair and makeup ladies, our photographer, and videographer. It was fantastic to have that large room. The beauty squad had a whole 12 person table to spread out on. There was a tiny kitchenette, two bathrooms, and then the sleeping area.
It would be a nice gesture to invite your MIL to join you that morning, especiallIf if you have a good relationship with her.
I can see how space would be a concern for you. Is there any way to upgrade your room? Or are any friends or family staying at the hotel? Would it be possible to get adjoining rooms to have the extra space? Although that could be a little uncomfortable if that is where you plan to spend your wedding night.
