@KIKI25:  My husband went to my first appointment.  They did both an abdominal and a transvaginal u/s and also a general exam completel with pap smear.  The u/s tech was female and the ob was male.   My husband was in the room the whole time and had no issues with any of it.  He comes to all my appointments with me even though i tell him he doesn’t have to come to the quick checks.

My husband came in at the end (it’s the policy where I live).

DH didn’t come to the first one. He came to the second (we, rightly, thought I was having a MC) so he came for support.

Was there the whole time. My OB is a male.

My husband comes with me to every appointment, including all ultrasounds and cervical checks/pevic exams and he is in the room the whole time. The only thing I do by myself is pee in the cup for the urine test. My OBGYN practice only has female staff (e.g. nurses, US techs, NPs, OBGYNs). I’m currently at 36w. Not sure who you meant by “they” but everyone involved (the staff and DH) were fine with all of this.

My husband has been to all of my appointments too and I’ve had more than normal because I’m higher risk for certain things they like to keep an eye on.  I get a vaginal ultrasound and abdominal one every 2 weeks so I think he’s pretty desensitized to it all by now.  I’ve had manual cervix checks done every time and once they took a sample to rule out a UTI and my DH didn’t flinch.  It should come in handy when labor time comes and all modesty goes out the window hehe.  All of my doctors are men so they have to have a female nurse in the room as well when they do the examination.

My husband only went to the very first prenatal appt.  I had an abdominal u/s and then they did do a vaginal swab.  My dr was female.  DH was slightly uncomfortable.. LOL… he commented on how small the rooms were.

My Husband went to both U/S and my first prenatal appt. My first U/S was vaginal and he just stayed in the room the whole time. My US tech was female, my OB is male.  Now that I am 38w, I requested he come to the rest of them if he can. Cervial checks will start at my next appt and he will just have to sit there while it’s being done.

My husband has been to all the appointments. He wanted to be at the first one and after that first ultrasound, he didnt want to miss out on anything.

I have a male doctor and I love him! I had women gynos before and I just didnt feel as comfortable with them so I decided to try a male.

@KIKI25:  I’ve only had 2 ultrasaounds (NT at 13weeks and anatomy at 19weeks). DH was there for both times, and my ultrasound tech was female both times!

My OB rotates, so I have both male and female. DH has been to every appointment!

DH never came with me to any OB/Doc appointments, as there was no real need for him to be there.

He came to 2 of my ultrasounds and to the ER with me a couple times.

I ended up in the ER and getting a lot of ultrasounds very often during my pregnancy, but he didn’t need to be there for all of them.

My Doctor is male and OB female. DH never had any issue with them..they’re doctors…

DH comes with me to all appointments. At first it was just excitement but after 2 threatened miscarriages I have really found I’ve needed him there, also he has to driv eme there because im on rest so it just makes sense. He has no issues during the US even with the first one being transvaginal he just stares at the screen. He was very happy that both times he got to see bubs heartbeat. Also it’s been handy having him at the appointments because Doc has been able to tell him to keep me off my feet so he has been far more willing to pick up the slack.

I went to the first appointment (with ultrasound) alone. He came with me to the second and was in the room the whole time with me while we heard the heartbeat. My OB’s office has men and women. That day, it was a woman OB.

When I went for my 20 week scan, DH waited in the waiting room until the very end when the female tech told us the gremlin in my stomach is a girl.

My husband hates doctors, so I tell him what’s really important to me, and he goes.

My husband came with me to my first exam– he was so excited to see/hear baby.  He was allowed in the room for the u/s.  When we moved to the exam room, the Dr asked him to leave during the internal exam, and then brought him back in to ask questions and gather our health and family histories.

He was also present for a recent emergency visit and u/s.  The tech and Dr in both cases were female.
