I'm only having 1 bridal shower so pretty much everyone will be invited to it. For the most part it will be all women invited to our wedding with the exception of the +1's of some of our male guests that I don't know (mostly the wives of FI's co-workers). We're only inviting 85 people to our wedding so my bridal shower will have about 35 women invited.
I would say family (your's and FI's) and close female friends. I've heard you are only supposed to invite people that are also invited to the wedding.
My bridesmaids threw my shower. They had me make up a list, and I invited my girl friends and female family members (on both sides -- including FMIL). There were about 20-25 people invited in total.
I plan on inviting all local women and I think some of my co-workers that aren't invited will want to come and that's ok, I wish I had more room at our venue to invite them to the wedding too!
I'm having three showers, each for a different crowd. The first one is a family shower, so I am inviting all of the women in my family. The second is a party my parents friends are throwing so all of my mom and dad's friends (couples) will be invited as well as the wedding party members. The third will be thrown by my bridesmaids and be people who are our age (male and female). That way we can celebrate with each group.
All women that are invited to the wedding are invited to a shower. I am having two bridal showers, one at each end of California, so most of the women invited won't be considered OOT.
