Write the thank you to whomever's name is on the card. If only the wife attended the shower and only signed her name on the card, then the thank you note should be to her only, even if her hubby is invited and coming to your wedding.
@babylou: ditto. I think for the shower, often times the gift really is just from the woman... it's kind of a girls thing.

My bridal shower was this past weekend, and I plan to start my Thank You card writing tomorrow. But I was wondering who the Thank You note itself should be addressed to? In some cases, the ladies who attended wrote From Jane (i.e. only put their own name on the gift), and other cases, they wrote From Jane and John (i.e. put both their name and their significant other's name on the gift.
It seems pretty clear to me that if the giver wrote both their own and their SO's name, the thank you should be addressed to both of them. But what if the giver only wrote their own name? In all of these cases, the woman's SO is invited and coming to the wedding. I assume in reality, that the gift is from them both. But they only put their own name on the gift...so do I just address the thank you only to the person who's name was on the gift?
