So I realized that I’m 7 weeks from my wedding, and I don’t have a cake. I want to do cupcakes from Sprinkles, and they don’t need alot of advance notice (a week is sufficient) but still. It makes me nervous, because if something doesn’t go right, I’m screwed. Oh well, I should probably be more worried, but I’m not. Anyone else waiting until the last minute for something fairly important?

My wedding is a month before yours and I don’t have a cake or a veil. Hope that makes you feel better 🙂

Most bakeries only need about 2 weeks notice

We don’t have a cake yet either but I think we may be on the verge of getting one soon. I think most bakeries just need a couple weeks notice so don’t stress (easier said than done, I know).
We have a cake topper now ^_^…did you get that? Maybe falling in love with a cake topper can help you decide what kind of style cake you want and get the ball rolling

Hmm..we JUST booked our officiant…like 8 weeks before the wedding…I would say that was pretty huge!
Other than that…nothing too major. I would say you will be A-OK!

I can’t say much about the cake: we’re baking our own, we’ve done a bunch of trials; but it’s going to be quite the last-minute DIY.
But if what the other Bees say about bakers only needed a week or two notice, then you should be OK: take a few deep breaths.
As for vendors, we need chair covers, and a hair stylist (I have option, but haven’ booked yet), and a liquor license/buy our alcohol. I definitely feel the pressure!

3.5 months away and I still don’t have an official ceremony site or officiant LOL. I did talk to the pastor at my new church today and I have a meeting with him on Wednesday.
I also just booked my caterer.
I do have a baker but I don’t have to do much until a week before: he won’t even accept a deposit from me yet. Too early.

Oh, I should also add I’ve booked a photographer but never talked to him. He’s a friend of my sisters and she booked him. Guess I really should at least introduce myself before the wedding day..

@Ivorybuttons: LOL… We’re almost date twins, except you beat me by 1 day 🙂 We’re baking our own cake too. And favours.
This will be the most intensive DIY except I can’t make a move on it till the week of. Is it giving that itchy nagging feeling that you’re still not done yet except you can’t do anything about it? Because it’s the one thing on my list I can’t check off.

@silverbrrlrcr: I have the bottom tier. Only three more to bake, ice and decorate. LOL so much more to worry about than the cake though!
