@leisha606:  You would be surprised to see how many drunk drivers are out and about at any given time of the day.

Glad to hear your SO is ok.

Just a couple weeks ago there was a big accident in front of my work because of a drunk driver, it was about 3 or 4 pm! I am so glad you and your SO are ok! 🙂

@leisha606:  I am so glad that your SO seems to be doing ok. Keep a close eye on him for now.

As for your question, alcoholics drive drunk in the middle of the day. My dad is an alcoholic – I don’t know if he has ever done this, but I wouldn’t be surprised. It’s an addiction and a disease, but not an excuse. I hope the person responsible gets some help and gets sober while they sit in prison (I’m assuming here that they will be arrested at some point).

Drunks do. So sorry about your FI–glad to hear he is okay. Same thing happened to my sister in the middle of the day when my first niece was just a baby. Luckily they were both okay. But, sadly, yes, people do drive drunk at any and all hours. Not just after last call.

I am glad your SO is ok. Things could’ve been much worse.

A few years ago, a friend of mine was hit head on, and killed, by a drunk driver… at 9:30 am.

@leisha606:  Being a 911 dispatcher and married to a paramedic, I can tell you truthfully, you are no safer from drunk drivers during the day than you are at night! It’s a false sense of secuity most people have about driving in the day light.

So glad to hear your SO is alright! I’d recommend he take the rest of today off and possibly tomorrow, since he’ll likely be quite stiff and sore tomorrow.

Hugs

@leisha606:  as a law enforcement wife, you would be surprised at the times that drunk drivers are out… 7am 11am… All day… It’s just a matter of you or I noticing them. Glad everyone is okay!

Yeah I’m glad it wasn’t worse. I’m a prosecutor and I’ve seen DUIs at all hours of the day. Mom taking kids to school, semi truck drivers in the middle of the day, and on and on.
