I work long hours sometimes. I’m already exhausted when I get home and since none of us got the expected bonus this year we got last year, I am not able to afford a housekeeper. so I am she.
I am agonizing right now because I am exhausted and have to vacuum, rinse off dishes, and clean the downstairs bathroom.
why on earth can I not find the energy to light a fire under my buttocks and get the heck to work?
I take a daily vitamin but am lucky if I can squeeze in six consecutive hours of sleep. It’s tough being a single mom. I do not live with T (we won’t until close before we get married…like a few months before) and I just feel sometimes like Cinderella. Cooking, cleaning, working all day, sometimes all night, and doing all things mom and then taking care of one macaw and three dogs.
Did I mention I rescued a kitten last week too? She lives on my front porch and she’s adorable?

Cinderelly Cinderelly night and day its Cinderelly!
I get in spurts… when I get going, I don’t stop but it takes awhile to get me motivated. I hate vacuuming the most. I also have the BIGGEST pile of clothes in my closet that need to be hung up and organized better!

I hate doing housework. That’s why my fiance does most of it. He’s wonderful. 🙂 I did scrub the shower tonight – it really needed it!

ME! Can’t you see me waving me waving my arm wildly? Oh I love a clean house, I just want someone else to do the cleaning!

My right hand is up high waving around too! Sigh….I was so planning on getting a cleaning company to come every 2 weeks…but then I got laid off. Even though I’m home every day, I still hate it. 🙁

I think both my hands are in the air.
My son is 10 now and a total dirt-magnet. He plays for several hours in the afternoon with his little friends and when he comes home he is covered in sweat and dirt. I make him just head to the shower.
T is lucky. He has a housekeeper. He has alread said that he will definitely keep the housekeeper (and have her around more) when we move in. I am seriously thinking of asking him for Christmas to give me a house cleaning service for the last several months I’m at my house. To just give me a break.
Geez it will be nice when I’m over there. Only messy place is T’s closet. My closet is also right now in dire need of cleaning and I have two loads of laundry to fold and I don’t wanna do it!
Oh well. (channeling my inner Scarlett O’Hara which is ever-present) I’ll think about it tomorrow. Tomorrow is another day!

I love having a clean house and I sincerely wish it would magically stay spotless at all times or that someone else would take care of the housework. But I hate cleaning it and knowing that its a never ending cycle.

I *say* I hate housework, but I find myself doing it and feeling quite relaxed- I do it without even realizing it when I’m bored at the end of the day. I hate doing dishes, but once I start I stop disliking it so much, I think I zone out, lol! FI tries to help, but I’m a bit of a control freak, so things have to be done *just so*- he has a tendency to half-ass things, like leaving spots on dishes, not pulling clothes out of the dryer, cleaning the toilet without any cleaning agent, etc., since he tries to read or watch something on his laptop at the same time (he does it soooo slowly and doesn’t pay a lick of attention to what he’s doing!) But I’m the house chef (I <3 cooking!) so I usually get him to do the dishes and I sit on the settee in the kitchen and read while he does them…encouragement He’s good about getting the garbage out, walking the Chi’s, vacuuming, cleaning the cars, etc., though.
One day I asked him to help me clean when he was on the way home from work for an hour before he left to see his parents, and I neglected to tell him why we were cleaning together- I’d just made a HUGE batch of canned pickled beets for my Dad (after he’d brought me 3 giant farmers market bags of beets!), you know, the sweet/sour kind, and it looked like I’d killed a deer and gone to town on it in the kitchen, EVERYTHING was covered in dark red liquid, our double sided big old porcelain sink was pink for weeks FI was less than thrilled 😉

I think that is the problem. Clean the house and how long does it stay that way? If you have kids, men or pets, not very long. You see we are fighting an universal force – entropy – the tendancy for the universe to continously move towards towards disorder. Cells, lawns, desks at work, even houses will spontaneously keep moving towards disorder. Thus energy must continously be expended to maintain order. At least that is what I tell my students! What is a mere human to do?

I hate some parts of housework — folding laundry is the worst! I love loading it into the machine and firing it up. It really makes you feel like you’re getting something done. Then, putting it away is a whole different story.
I’m not a big vaccuuming fan either — thank goodness FI love to vaccuum. After a few too many beers, he’s known to do it "for fun"? Makes me laugh and keeps our carpet clean.

Me, Me, Me!!!
I don’t mind laundry but I don’t like to fold or put away. I don’t mind doing the dishes but I don’t like to dry them. I HATE cleaning the bathroom.
When my FI and I lived together for a month before his dad arrived, our house was always spotless. But ever since his dad and our poochie was there full time, I just can’t seem to get it back to where it was. No matter how much I sweep, Buddy’s hair magically appears and in clumps (ugh!). Such is life!

Another cleaning hater here. I do love a nice clean house but I usually don’t have the motivation (or the time and energy) it takes to keep it immaculate. But once I get going, I usually find myself enjoying what I’m doing and I especially like the satisfaction of having the house being clean when I’m done. Just wish it would stay that way longer!!!

I love to vaccuum and that’s about it. I love a clean house though. When I was working, it was tough because I worked crazy hours and weekends. But now that I’m unemployed, I’m a little more motivated. I’m lucky that my fiance helps but still, it’s a drag.

I hear ya! when I get home from work I just want to relax, and on the days that I go to bootcamp I am dead afterwards so I cannot be bothered to start some cleaning. I will admit, my house is a mess and I truly wish it wasn’t. My mom is this HARDCORE cleaner, she cleans EVERYDAY kind of OCD I think, and were talking vaccum and clean bathrooms and dust, shes a nut case, I wish I had some of her stamina as its hard enough for me to do something in a week…
