I really recoil at having to say fiance. I’ve had to do it for almost 2 years now and it still feels icky.

I sometimes say partner or give in and say fiance, but it doesn’t mean I like it 🙂

I called him my husband or my boyfriend, most of the time, depending on who I was talking to… FI just sounded weird to me. You’re not alone! 🙂

I don’t hate fiance, but I forget to say it. I’ve said “boyfriend” for five years, and at the end I started saying “partner” because boyfriend just sounds… ugh… to me. I think I’ll enjoy “husband” much more. 🙂

I call him boyfriend most of the time and “lover boy” if we’re joking around.  I also call him my man candy a lot.  I hate FIANCE! it feels so stuffy and pretentious.  I was told the other day by one of his friends that i needed to stop doing this and commit to fiance his reason being “if I spent that much on a ring I better damn well be called more than boyfriend”.

I really can’t stand the word. It doesn’t sound right. But I mean, what else would you call him? Husband to be? Betrothed? Ugh, that’s worse.

I do still call him boyfriend but he doesn’t like it either & he usually corrects me for the same reason Miss Topsiders mentioned.

I usually introduce him just by his first name “Do you know [Mr. Dancy]?”.

I call him my boyfriend when I’m talking to friends, but depending on other situations, I call him my husband. He does the same as well. I haven’t used fiance since we’ve been engaged!

I HATED the word fiance. I was so  happy when we finally got married to use “husband” instead. I felt like calling him my boyfriend, and did for a while, but then coworkers started asking me if we postponed our engagement or something since I stopped calling him my fiance. So I just used it until we were married.

I call him my boyfriend still. I deff think FI is a weird word, I will stick to boyfriend until were married n then switch to husband!

You know what’s funny? I used to HATE saying “boyfriend” because I was 34 and felt too old to have a boyfriend. Then we got engaged and now I hate saying “fiance” because it sounds so awkward. I usually just call him my husband if I’m speaking to someone we don’t know.

Ha! I had a feeling this was the wedding site for me…

I find it extremely pretentious when girls repeatedely use the word “fiance'” – so in defiance, I don’t use it at all.

I’m the odd bird out because I always loved that word, while I feel much more uncomfortable with husband.  Can’t explain it fully, it’s just the way it is for me.  I think it has to do with some baggage about the word husband!

The only thing I hate about it is how even strangers are drawn to you when they here it and everyone wants to congratulate you…I know it’s sweet, but I don’t like being singled out in public.
