My dress, although I DO love it, is pretty simple. I start to get dress envy when I see all the elaborate dresses on here.
Can anyone else relate?
Here is my dress (minus the sash - I won't be wearing it).

I am wearing a very simple dress with no veil (Destination wedding). I love it, despite the fact that it's quite different from 99% of the more formal dresses I see.

Did you see the dress that the Swedish princess wore at her wedding yesterday? Especially for a princess, I thought it was very simple and incredibly beautiful. So try not to get dress envy, you're in good company!

I am! My dress doesn't have a single bead or crystal on it. It *does* have this bow, BUT I've already taken that off. ;)
I LOVE the simple, timeless elegance of what we now think are "plain" wedding gowns. These dresses are GORGEOUS (and a might on the pricey side, I might add for such "simplicity"). The options for jewelry are endless, and that's just plain fun!
You will all look fantastic on your day! My dress does not have all of that "stuff" either. I'm a fan of seeing the bride, not her dress.
@alligatress - LOL... YES! It does have pockets! I'm in love. :)
Since I happen to be browsing around the hive...I'll buzz here...I also wore a simple dress. And I also had a trace of dress envy, but then I came back to my senses. It was the best choice for me. Trust your instinct!:)
(SORRY IF THE PHOTO IS HUGE)
I'm wearing a simple dress! No beading, no lace, nothing. I started to get a little disappointed I wasn't wearing something more elaborate, but I quickly remembered the best part of a simple dress is you can accessorize it with anything! I'm wearing a huge flower in my hair with a funky bracelet - I can't wait!
Mine is pretty simple, but I LOVE IT!!! :]
Mine is simple too! No beading, no lace... However, like jenniferceline's, it does have pockets!

I suppose mine is fairly simple. I said I was going to take off the beads on the bodice but was talked out if it. Mom was right, there weren't many and you never really saw them anyways. :-) In my mind, simple = classy and that's very much what I was going for while still trying to keep it fun and light.
Mine is very simple and I love it. I only looked at simple dresses. The elaborate ones feel like costumes to me.
Mine was simple, and I got so many compliments about my dress! Wouldn't change a thing. :)

Mine is very simple. Allure 8771

I really didn't want a huge, elaborate "cupcake" dress. I feel like a fool in overly-decorated clothing.
My dress has no beading, no lace, it's not a mermaid. I think it's pretty classic and not too trendy. I love it exactly for that reason. Simplicity equals elegance in my opinion. :)
My dress was very simple too - just a little bling at the waist...

@Miss Chocolate, I LOVE your dress! The lace is so, so pretty!
Mine is simple with a touch of detail. It's also different because it's not white or ivory, but blush pink! :)
my dress was simple in the fact that it was short, but it still had a lot of lace details. sometimes i did (and still do) get dress envy when i see longer, fancier dresses, but then i remember how perfect my dress was for my wedding on my day.
mine is pretty simple even though its all over lace but i LURVE her. im a classic understated kind of girl, so the dress fits me perfectly.

I don't have my dress yet (am looking online!) but that is exactly what I'm looking for - simple, classic. I don't want fancy with lace, beads, embroidery... it's just not me.
@mandM I love your dress - so simple and classic. Beautiful. Can you tell me what dress it is?
@justeen: I almost bought that dress! I was going to chop off the straps and wear it strapless. Where did you get yours?
Here is a fairly simple dress that I find amazingly beautiful and am seriously considering.
@ddubzz, I actually got it off the rack up in the bay area shopping with my sisters. It was discontinued but I liked it so much I bought the sample! I like the straps but I'm thinking I might make it a halter.
hey ladies! my dress was very simple as well but i LOVE it! it was perfect. i never really realized how perfect until everything came together, the day of before the wedding i kept looking and the mirror thinking omg i look perfect....honestly i was very pleased with my decision. i think anything more and it would have been too much and not me. you picked a plain dress for a reason :)
i would say that my dress is fairly simple. it has one thin band of beading around the hips, everything else is just ruching. (obviously it's not me in the picture)
When my wife first tried on her dress, which really had only embroidery as decoration, I gasped in admiration. As I told her at the time, with other dresses people would say, "Oh, that dress looks great!" But with the simple one she picked, people would say, "Oh, you look great!" The latter seems to me to be a much better reaction.

your dress is perfect. why no sash?
less is more imo! i think that is all i will consider when my time comes.
my dress is extremely simple... it's not even a wedding dress - it's a linen summer dress. the only thing i'm adding is a white cotton bolero. very plain.

Thanks:) It is a Paloma Blanca, an older style - I wasn't able to find out the exact number or year. I bought it at a bridal boutique liquidation sale.
Good luck with the search!! I checked the Paloma Blanca website and they actually have a similar style in the last collection.
My dress is simple! Looks much like the OPs dress and I LOVE IT! I am not the beading/lace/bows type of girl so it fits me perfectly!
These are all so pretty! I kinda wish I had simpler one now. Mine's all over lace. But cut s simple.
