Are you trying to lose weight or just tone up? If you are trying to lose weight, you will need to keep track of the food that you are eating in order to lose weight. It is very hard to lose weight from exercise alone.
meee! I did. well i started today actually. Right now the plumber is here but I am gonna go for a run when he leaves. Annnnd I am gonna start 30 day shred. I cant wait to feel better in my clothes
ME! But I failed miserably yesterday so I'm starting over today! I'm doing WW again cause I know it works, it forces you to track what you eat and I'm going to start going to the gym again. I've been paying for it for 4 months without going (before that, I was going EVERY SINGLE DAY).
holy cow do we only have 8 months left?!?!
Your plan sounds great. I'm not keeping a food journal. I'm not counting calories, but I am trying to eat better and smaller portions. I'm right there with you on the 5Ks. I'm running or walking about 3 times a week. The other days I do DVDs. I do the Shred or Womens Health Full Body Workout in 10. The Shred is posted about a lot on WeddingBee, but I actually like the womens health workout better, and I think it is a better workout in general.
I'm trying to get in shape ASAP (like totally ready to go by March) so I will feel good leading up to the wedding and so I don't have to worry about it.
I didn't start until today. I already eat very healthy, but I had fallen off the wagon completely with exercise and I was snacking too much. Today was the first day back to the gym and I am challenging myself this week to see how many good things I can do for myself each day: exercise, take vitamins, meditate, etc.
6 months to go before the big day!!!
I already went to the gym, but I am going to do the 30 day shred for the 1st time today too.
I didn't do a November First plan intentionally but I joined the gym yesterday for the first time in years - going tonight for my initial assessment - dreading it AND excited to get moving all at the same time!
Good luck ladies!
I am- sort of! ;P
i have been working on losing weight since January, but in October I fell off the wagon BAD and for the first time in a year I've gained 10lb! Ahhhh! After being all kinds of upset, I am buckling down once again. What I started yesterday was a Food Journal. It really does help when you can track your food intake, liquid intake, as well as know what you weighted day-to-day (or week-to-week, or even month-to month). Since the 1st marked 10 months to my wedding, i am rededicating myself to weight lifting and exercising. I want to have lost 60lb between now and my wedding. And, if nothing else, I'll look and feel better at my wedding after spending 10 month eating right (more veggies, fewer carbs!) and working out. I hate working out, but I know the results will be worth it!
Oh, and if anyone here is "dieting" I highly recommend taking your daily vitamins! A lot of people have trouble getting enough vitamins and minerals when they are trying to lose weight.
My mom, sister, and I started a "get fit" challenge a couple of weeks ago. I'm training for a half marathon, my sister is working to drop some "relationship weight" she put on (hehe) and my mom is looking to drop a few pounds. I eat pretty healthy already, but I've been indulging in a little too much wine as of late ;o) So I'm being more careful with eating and drinking, and sticking close to my half-marathon training schedule.
The three of us weigh in/submit our measurements every Thursday.
I'm doing the plan somewhat..My sis and I have a pact to have 15 off by Christmas. We can do it! The holidays are rough, but we're so busy that if we remain focused it should just be kinda easy!
Wishing everybody here success! Wish me luck too :)
Mentally, I did! :) I am trying to tone up a bit, but gave myself the excuse of waiting until after my birthday to start. Well, my birthday is done, and the wedding is only 7 months away -- so I guess that mean's it's time! (hmm, I might need to get rid of the halloween candy I have around the house...)
Sigh. I keep failing miserably at this!!! We went to a basketball game and I was so bored I started eating all the candy from Cracker Barrel I had in my purse! I'd like to wear a smaller size ring before I get engaged but I can't stop eating OR make myself go to the gym!
Wow- seeing your post made me realize I have less than 7 months now to drop about 20 pounds...is that do-able?
One great online tool is thedailyplate.com It is FREE (yay!) and allows you to track food, calories, fat, weight & workout. I absolutely love that site.
I worked out over lunch today and am playing volleyball tonight~ but I definitely need to get the 30 minutes of cardio a day in as I have packed on the pounds the last few months.
Good luck during Thanksgiving and Christmas season- Hopefully with a support group we can all hang in there!
One of the bees started a Team for WeddingBee on SparkPeople.com a while back. I'm on there as sheriinaz and I'd love an accountability partner!
I did the gym and 30 Day Shred yesterday and am doing the same today! I'm sore but it feels good to be working out again.

I just started a somewhat diet, mostly exercise plan on November 1st. I thought it would be a perfect day to start...8 months before the wedding, the first of the month, and a Sunday. Has anyone else started a plan to get healthy? I thought I could count on the bees to keep me motivated and on track. We can keep each other on track. What are you doing?
For me: *Started a food journal...write EVERYTHING down
*Run or walk at least 3 miles a day
Got any other suggestions?
