My first wedding was in Jamaica and it was beautiful! It was at the Riu Ocho Rios and cost around $4500 for the ceremony, flowers, reception, etc. The whole experience was great! Minus the marrying the wrong guy part lol

If you have any questions let me know!

We have booked our wedding for next July at Sandals Carlyle in Montego Bay Jamaica. If you are staying for at least a week you can get the free wedding included with your stay. The packages are nice but the colors are pre determined you can also customize your colors as well. With you guest saying if you set up a free wedding group when they book rooms using your code each room under a specific category gives the bride and groom extras for the wedding, like additional extended reception time, dinners, massages and room upgrades. You can chat with a rep online with all your questions or just call in. I think I called them like 5 times before I actually booked just asking questions.

I’m getting married in July of this year. we chose jamaica based on the fact our TA told us that jamaica is the easiest island to get married on. you don’t have to translate any documents or anything.  We are getting married at sandals negril and all we had to do was fill out a form and send certified copies of our birth certificates which we got from town hall. We mailed those in march and that’s about it! We were told that the license wouldn’t come in for 6-8 weeks AFTER the wedding…kind of a bummer but I guess they go on Jamaican time!

LoveLikeCrazy:  Did you choose your photo package yet? Are you having a group or just the two of you?

MrsBlake2015:  It is just us, we are “eloping”…LOL. i havent heard any good things about sandals photographers and their sandals partners were 2k more than what they would be charging if it weren’t through sandals!  MY SOLUTION:  I hired an offsite photographer local to Negril and she will pick us up after the ceremony and take us to locations all over Negril for photos, ending with TTD at sunset.  I will have sandals photographers present for ceremony so i can have one or 2 pics of that…first kiss etc but i can pay per pic (i believe they told us 20 per pic).  My photog is AMAZING and at least im getting what i paid for…gorgeous professional pics in locations i wouldn’t have visited otherwise.

LoveLikeCrazy:  LOL cool. We are having a few friends and few family member come..Well that’s what they say right now anyway . We haven’t decided on the photo options just yet but I think we should look into an offsite photog..we just really want to have a video of the ceremony for those important family members who could not come. Was the off site photog more affordable than the sandals package?

MrsBlake2015:  Honestly, i don’t remember all the sandals prices i knew from the get go i wanted an offsite photographer…shortly into our planning process they started the partners photography which i did look into but it was complete rape with no lube LOL.  We are paying $1500 for 3 hours of shooting, all usable photos on cd with rights and a dvd photo slideshow set to music of our choice.  We prefer just having a cd so we can make all the prints, canvases etc on our own.

MrsBlake2015:  haha, you def have time! Def look into it.  Just realize that they will NOT be allowed on sandals property so if you are having a big wedding and need pics on property, it wont happen with an offsite photog.  Also, to get pics of the ceremony you will HAVE to use snapshots photogs or you will have no pics of your ceremony (which is important!). Since it’s just us, we decided to leave the resort and have a lot of fun with it.  I can PM you the photographers i looked into as they were all recommended on a dest wedding forum, just let me know.
