I pretty much planned our entire wedding by myself because I moved to New York from LA, and all my friends and family were in LA. Mr. Bee helped me make decisions once I did all the research and narrowed down options, but it was pretty much all me. Which was fine with me because I’m a little bit of a control freak… but it would have been nice to have a gal pal to experience the process together.
What about you? Who has been the biggest help — Your mom? MOH? Sister? Bridesmaids? Friend? Planner?

I would have to say my mom. I kind of tell her something I saw and/or like, and she finds ways to make it happen, sometimes better than my original idea! She’s willing to search stores, the internet, books, what ever to come up with the best ways to make things work and find ideas I might like/want to incorporate. With all her help, she still manages to come across as very passive and waits for me to give her a lead; she’s never pushy. My fiance has lots of ideas and helps quite a bit, but he likes to make decisions and move on, while I like to stew over them to make sure that’s really the route I want to go. He’s been good about pushing me just enough to keep us on track without making me feel too pressured. I have to say that Wedding Bee has been a great help too! Lots of good ideas and advice for whatever, whenever!

awww how could I forget Weddingbee!
Of course it didn’t exist when I was planning my wedding… that’s why I started it!

Luckily for all of us, it’s here now!

I don’t have any friends who have had weddings or anything, so I did everything on my own. My hubby helped out quite a bit, which was nice, but as far as style and all that it was all me. By the time I found Weddingbee, it was a little late in the planning process to borrow too many ideas.

Pretty much all me! FI helps sometimes. And I go to my MOH & sisters for advice (quite often)… and they also help my with my DIY projects. But I’m like you Mrs. Bee… a control freak, and such a planner! So it’s mostly me. Now that I have weddingbee, I get so much more advice & much faster! It’s so much help!

My sister, bff and Weddingbee of course! I do heart the inspiration board creations over at stylemepretty though.

My mom. My mom. My mom! I live 7,500 miles from my wedding site, and if she weren’t there, I’d be so in over my head!

My mom and my older sister Shannon. And of course, weddingbee!

So far, my Mom, sister and future sister in-law have been somewhat of a help.

Having gone through the (almost) entire process a few years ago, my mom was definitely a huge help. Since I cancelled the whole shebang 2 months out…& have been lucky enough to meet my soulmate, I know that when we get to the planning stage, my mom again will be a huge help. But my guy now is very involved in what we want for our eventual wedding so I know he will be a huge help also.
And of course now that I have found the Hive, you ladies (& MrBee) provide great ideas, support and insight.

Weddingblogs and Weddingbee have defintely been super helpful. Mr. Ducky is probably the most helpful in actually doing stuff like building our website (in process) and figuring out other design stuff. My mom is the best for helping with vendor research etc.

Weddingbee and My Moh she got married last Aug. and I know I can ask her anything and she is more then willing to help. She introduced me to weddingbee too. Then it would be my fiance.

Hmmm…depends on the type of planning…
For general advice/ettiquette/any random thoughts or inspiration…Weddingbee has been sooo helpful. Other than my sister, I am the first of my friends to marry, so it is so amazing to be able to get advice from past and current bride-to-bes.
For local vendors, I really find Southern New England Weddings magazine has the best information and the top vendors. If brides are unsatisfied with a vendor, they will not be published in the magazine, which I find awesome.
For emotional support, just being there to attend meetings, etc. It has been my mom and sister. They help wit ha ll the details.
and overall I think my groom can be pretty amazing, he doesn’t always know how to help, but he always tries. If a task is hard for me, he comes in and helps.
In my case, it hasn’t been one place as the most helpful, I think having a combination of amazing resources and people has been what is getting me through the planning process.

Definitely my mom and dad. We are planning a wedding in our hometown, which is across the country from where we live now, and they have been running around doing all sorts of things for me. I can’t thank them enough. My FI has also been really helpful and my bridesmaids are at the ready once I think of things for them to do!
