@dar7:  I have a hearts and arrows cut diamond. 1.67 ct.

I have no idea what my husband paid for it and I would never ask. That being said, it is gorgeous and it sparkles like all the stars in the sky!

I have a GIA XXX. I think cut is extremely important, but I wouldn’t pay a premium just to have an H&A diamond. I would have your jeweller bring in multiple diamonds in your price range with ideal cuts, and I’d choose from those. The hearts and arrows pattern isn’t determinative of a great sparkly diamond, but I would choose it over a bigger carat size for sure!

I have a hearts on fire engagement ring (above) and my wedding band (which I am picking up tonight) is hearts and arrows. It is hard to capture in a photo but my stone sparkles like a little disco ball and I get tons of compliments on how much it sparkles. For a similar well cut, good clarity/color diamond the price was not too bad. Mine is 0.33 carats for the same price I could have gotten around a 0.45 non-hearts and arrows online but at the time FI was set on buying from a local jeweler so we could see the ring in person first.

I don’t have one, but tried some on when we were ring shopping. They are stunning!! I would totally buy one if I had the money. They shine like mad.

@dar7:  I have a Birks Blue Signature cut ring… it is cut better than almost any other diamond company/is equivalent to a heart and arrows ring (the term hearts and arrows is just a marketing term; most well cut diamonds will have the hearts and arrows pattern).

Here is my ring for reference. It was worth every penny (there were many lol)

@dar7:  I have a GIA XXX hearts and arrows cut- you don’t really pay *that* much more- and what you do pay for is totally worth it, IMO.  All I will say is this- I have a .50 carat diamond, and because of the excellent cut, it looks bigger in real life.  It always sparkles- even when it’s dirty.  Fo example- I’m guilty of wearing my ring when I put lotion on my legs.  I usually make sure ring is clean afterwards, but I guess I didn’t today.  We were out for lunch, and I noticed my wedding band looked dirty- so I took my ering off and looked at the underside (it’s bezel set with completely open gallery)- and there was lotion under there 🙁  But it was still sparkling like crazy.

Mine is a Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows cut and I LOVE it. Even though BGD diamonds aren’t cheap, I’m never going anywhere else for my diamond needs!

@dar7:  i have a triple EX H&A. It truly does sparkle ridiculously. Noticeably more than my friends’ diamonds of lesser quality. Cut is the most important ‘C’ to me and i really wanted H&A because they are more rare among diamonds 🙂

i kind of suck at taking pics of my ring, but heres a few where you can kind of see it…fingers crossed my pro-pics come back with a better depiction of it!
