Weddingbee boards

I drove up from central Illinois with friends yesterday to visit some bridal shops in the Aurora/Naperville area, and honestly wasn't expecting much from House of Brides in Naperville because of the poor reviews I saw online. However, the *second* dress I tried on was the One!! It was perfect in every way, was the ONLY dress I've found that fits every description I wanted, and is only $600!! After some persuasion from me, the consultant did tell me the dress was a Mori Lee, but I cannot be sure if that's accurate, since I don't see a dress that looks like it on their website or the designer's. We scheduled an appointment to return tomorrow with my mom so she can see it and we can order it.

However, I am VERY wary of ordering from House of Brides, because it seems that nearly every review (whether google reviews, yelp, yahoo) is poor, and there are multiple complaints on ripoffreport. This makes me nervous... most complaints seem to deal with the fact that it takes way too long for the dress to come in. But I won't get married until summer 2013, and plan to lie to them about my wedding date so that may help...But there are also many reports about wrong style dresses shipped, incorrect sizes, and their refusal to refund/exchange/apologize. I always wanted a new dress, but these reviews are making me contemplate asking them if I can simply buy the sample I tried on (it DOES fit perfectly as-is and needs no alterations and looked clean..) just to be on the safe side, but I don't know if it is for sale or not.

So.. I am really nervous now, because it seems like NO ONE has had a positive ordering experience from this store. I would like to know: Has anyone had a smooth and catastrophe-free experience here?
