Bring it in ASAP and make sure they believe you and fix it! I had a lose stone in mine the jeweller said it was all in my head and wouldn’t fix it and like a month or so later I lost the stone 🙁

Mine got loose after a shoddy resizing job. It took about a week to get it fixed. Being without it for a week is definitely better than losing the stone.

Definitely take it  in.  I had one of the side stones fall out of mine only a few weeks after I got it. I was really lucky though…  apparently it feel out when I put my hands in the pocket of the hoodie I was wearing.  After freaking out for about twenty minutes, while sitting in the second row of one of my law school classes, I put my hand in my pocket for some reason and felt what I thought was a crumb.  Good thing I looked at it before I just brushed it away because it was the diamond!  While the insurance DH  had on it would have replaced the stone no problem,  I’m super sentimental and I really wanted the one it had originally when he proposed lol.   they’ve also noticed and fixed other loose stones when I’ve taken it in for inspections and cleanings. long story sort:  take it in!

@staciandmatt:  I’ve had this problem twice. The first time was when I literally just got my ring. I’d only been wearing it 24 hours when I noticed a stone wobbling. The second time was after it had been cleaned (yeah, not sure I will trust my jeweller again as it only seems to happen when they are involved…) Both times I took it off straight away and put it away safely in its box to go back to the jewelers. It took maybe a week to fix each time.

ETA: They just tightened the prongs up for me. It only took a week because it had to be sent from the office to the workshop and back again.

I’m sorry this has happened and I understand from experience how heartbreaking it is to have to send it back when you’ve only just got it! But do NOT wear it until it is fixed. If a prong is already loose, you might knock it and make it loose enough that the stone falls out. You have the rest of your life to show off this ring to your family and friends – it’s not worth losing the diamond for the sake of showing them a week or two earlier. In the grand scheme of things it’s not that much longer to wait. Hugs (and congrats!)

@staciandmatt:  I am sure it will be fine – after I got my ring fixed the first time it was perfect for months and months. I’m sure it’s just a minor problem that’s easily fixed! I’m convinced mine only got loose again while a jeweller was cleaning it… I’ve heard it’s good to get the prongs checked fairly regularly, maybe 1-2 times a year though, just because they can become looser over time. Enjoy wearing your grandmother’s diamond, that’s so special 🙂

My center stone was never loose, but one of my side stones fell out. It was a black void and I HATED it! We’ve had it fixed and haven’t had problems since.

@staciandmatt:  Loose stones are usually a pretty easy fix, just take it back in ASAP before anything falls out.  It sucks to have that “naked” feeling on your finger, but the peace of mind will be worth it (plus you can always get yourself a cheapie stand-in).  I personally have never had any issues with my setting, but I think certain designs are more prone to loose/falling out stones.

@staciandmatt:  All the best! Hopefully it will be fine from here on out, it’s so stressful anytime something goes wrong with your ring 🙁

happened to me but not on my ering. took it in an the dumbasses put the wrong stone in 3 times!!! the stone is a dark grey almost black and at first they put a regular diamond in, then the next 2 times a very light purpley grey stone. needless to say bf flipped the fuck out and it came back correct the next time. I actually think they gave us a whole new ring.
