No, I would be bummed to. Really anyone can host it, but the question is who wants it.

How OOT are your girls? Can they come in if they work with your mom to plan remotely.

Anyone can host it, like a PP said.

As an example, I live in DC, grew up in MA, and 3 of my 4 bridesmaids are OOT.  My sister (who lives on the other side of the country) is flying back to do the bridal shower in MA, and two other bridesmaids are flying in (FL and VA) for it.  The fourth is on another continent, so I told her not even to think about coming back for it!

if your wedding is only those people, who would come to the shower? Sounds like it would be a shower for 3 or 4 people?

@Costa Rica Bride:  You may not have a sister, but don’t you have BMs? They can coordinate something and travel back for it.

My mom is hosting my shower in my hometown. My MOH is coordinating a girls weekend, which is looking more like just her and I hanging out together since our other friends now have young kids.

On the other hand, I was a MOH and still hosted the shower for my friend. I paid for it, flew in, the whole 9 yards. It was a lot of work from far away, but that’s what I signed up for.

Anybody can give you a bridal shower! Maybe one or a few of your Aunts or cousins have asked about it or are wondering if one is being given? If they have, and the answer is NO, maybe one will offer? Your Mom can do it for you too…
