we have decided on the sand ceremony instead of the unity candle. biggest reason is we will be outside.

So I've been looking for the perfect sand ceremony kit - and most actual "kits" can be a bit expensive...

so I created my own. total - $19!

the "H" vase I got half off at hobby lobby (usually $20, on sale for $10) (obviously the first letter of my new last name / his last name)

the 3 things of sand - $1.99 each at hobby lobby (one for me, one for hubby, one for minister)

the 3 side vases to pour from - dollar tree - $3!!

We're not doing either, but if we were, we'd totally DIY for either one! That's a great deal, good job!

We are using sand too!  I still need to get sand and containers, but I refuse to buy the "kits".  They are so expensive for what they are.  I like yours a lot!  But I am also looking for one that has some kind of stopper or something.  I can just see tons of sand spilled all over my living room someday!

yeah - that's one thing i have an issue with - no "stopper" on the top...i'm thinking of possibly using colored gem rocks on the top and make-shifting some sort of top for it. I know I will be buying a display case for it, though. :)

You can use some epoxy on the top to seal it.  Just wait until after the ceremony so it doesn't smell during your wedding to do it.  We got our stuff from hobby lobby and the dollar tree as well.
