I did! I loved how it turned out. When I did my makeup I thought it was too dark around the eyes and was freaking out, but the extra darkness photographed beautifully.

I’m doing my own!  I don’t wear make up so for the wedding it’s very very light make up.  Same goes for my hair so I can’t see spending tons of money on a professional. For make up I went to Sephora and worked with a saleslady there.  She gave me the look I wanted and gave me instructions on how to do it on my own.

I got married in Aruba and I paid for a MUA there which was a big mistake. The makeup looked horrible, nothing like I had asked for. I ended up re-doing almost the whole thing and wished I had never paid to get it done.  What I did looked so much better!

If you are good at doing your own makeup and know that you can create a great look that you will love I say go for it!

@ALazi:  I will possibly do it myself, maybe with help from my girls. I personally just don’t want to pay for it when I know what I like and am capable of doing it myself, you know?

@ALazi:  I am! I always like how I do my hair and makeup better than how makeup artists and stylists do it. I know my face and hair and head shape so well haha and I know what I want to highlight and what I want to diminish. Just research and go into sephora and ask them for help. Also, foundation with titanium dioxide is apparently bad for flash photography

I’ll be doing my own makeup. Totally agree with @FutureWifeyV:, I can do it myself and I don’t want to pay for it. I’ll still have to master putting on fake eyelashes though, I’m still struggling with it.

For my hair, I’ll need help ! I really don’t know how to style it, beside using a flat iron or put my hair in a ponytail. I’d like something more glamorous for the wedding, and something that will stay beautiful all day. I’ll leave my hair to professionals, but I’ll dye my hair myself at home, just like I use to. I’ll also get my haircut refreshed at my local hair salon a week before (20$, no way I’m paying 150+ for haircut and styling).

I can’t do an updo to save my life but I am doing my own makeup. I was really happy with it for our engagement pics and my bachelorette party too so I am pretty confident.

Practice makes perfect!

i did my own makeup because no one knows how i like my makeup better than myself. i did have my hair done though because she is a fellow hair dresser and i had seen her work before so i was comfortable with how she styles. go with your gut. if you think you will like it more, do it yourself. just give yourself plenty of time so your not stressed and rushing 🙂

My hair is hard to style so that will be professionally done.  I’m doing my makeup myself.  I have super sensitive skin and have to special order makeup, I’m sort of a makeup junkie, and I’m very picky on how it is done.  I can’t stand the way 99% of professionals apply makeup

I just wanted to pop in and say that I had my hair and makeup done professionally and I completely regret it! I wish I would have done it myself. Hope that gives you a little boost of confidence 🙂

I will be doing my own. I’ve had three trials with three different makeup artists, and I found that they either apply barely anything or apply too much which ends up melting anyway… I’d rather spend the money on quality products and use it myself 🙂

Kind of. I bought all my own makeup and did several trials myself, but then had my step sister apply it on wedding day when I was super jittery. She’s great with makeup and it was nice to spend some time with her. Best of both worlds. And my cousin did my hair. No trial, we just went for it!

I have had my makeup done professionally twice and I thought both put on way too much makeup and I had allergic reactions both times! I sure didn’t want to spend my mini-moon with my face covered in hives!

I was really happy with how my hair and makeup turned out and it was nice to be able to spend time with my sister and counsin.

I will be doing my own makeup, and hoping my aunt will be able to make my wedding as she is a hairdresser so will be doing mine and my bridesmaid’s hair. I think I would opt to pay for getting my hair done rather than makeup.
