What is the etiquette on this one and what are you personally doing?

We invited the officiant and his wife to both events, but they did not attend either.  He wasn't a family friend or anything....he "came with the church," so I would have been surprised if he did attend the rehearsal dinner or reception.

I'm good friends with our priest -- he's an actor who loves great food and working out (two outta three in common with me and the mister ain't bad!) -- so I hope he'll be able to attend both!

We're inviting our officiant and his wife to our reception, but that's it. Our RD is just family, wedding party and their SO's. He's not a family friend or anything, so it would be awkward to have him there.

Our officiant is my brother and sister-in-law's pastor, since we're borrowing their church and my regular pastor wasn't able to officiate the ceremony. We invited him to both events and he's declined both. I think it was a combination of time and him not knowing anyone there except for my brother and sister-in-law.

our officiant is one of our best friends who is being ordained just for the day!  So, he'd be invited to both even if he wasn't our officiant!

We're not inviting our officiant to any wedding events. We don't have any sort of relationship with her beyond working in our ceremony together. We're both very happy with her, but we personally felt that a generous tip without an invitation to wedding-related events was sufficient, especially since it's a very small, intimate wedding.
