I am interested in getting my dress from Lightinthebox, but I won't if I find out that little children in Chinese sweat shops are making the dresses.  The price is too good to be true.  Does anyone know details??

I'm going to guess Little Children in a sweat shop...sorry! There is no way they can be paying somebody a fair wage and sell things that cheap.

Some of the reviews posted here are kinda sketchy.

I'd say grown ups in a Chinese sweat shop. However, that's how most wedding gowns are made. All those fancy "US" and "European" designers actually get their dresses made at factories in China. Just one factory might be responsible for making 2 or 3 different brands of wedding gowns. Lightinthebox is probably one of these factories who just decided to sell directly to the public. Watch out for the fabric quality, though, because using cheaper fabrics is an easy way for them to make "the same dress" at a lower price.

Like the previous poster said, most wedding dresses are made in China-even the high end brands. If you're looking for a custom dress, I wouldn't get it from Light in the Box, I've heard VERY mixed reviews about them. Milly Bridal is a Chinese manufacturer that does great work, I got a dress from there that I ultimately decided not to wear, but it's not because of the quality, it's a great looking dress, I just decided to go tea length.
