Im surprised companies would give the day off for Good Friday/Easter. Ive actually never heard of that!
I took Tuesday off, but no holiday time for Easter at my company. We only get like 5 paid holidays off a year. :(
Most of the companies around here are closed. FI and I both work a full day. I usually work half Fridays but this was my full Friday in rotation. The businesses around me are closed so it's very quiet here, and a lot of our employees have off because their work sites are closed. I work for an electrical contracting company so since Duke University is closed all of our Duke jobs are shut down for today and Monday.
Full day of work here. FI and I both work for a university that doesn't observe the holiday.
People get off for today???
Not me, but I do know someone who got a surprise day off from her boss!
@PitBullLover: DH works in finance and all markets are closed today, which equals a day off for him. Lucky duck!
We get the full day off today. Government gets Monday off too.. lucky ducks :(

Also, the kids here would normally be off today, but since they were out for multiple snow days, they have to go to school today.
The only long weekends we get are Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. We get the week between Christmas and NYE off, though! And 4 weeks paid vacation (rather have that than random 3 day weekends, anyway!)
i'm off today (just because i don't work fridays), it didn't cross my mind that people would get today off for good friday. growing up, if you got a note from your parents you could leave school early for good friday, but schools were open. i don't know anyone that gets today off because it's a holiday for some people.
Nope. Crazy people are crazy all day every day. Plus, it isn't a federal holiday.
I unofficially get out at 2:00pm today. It's not a company-wide closing, just my particular office so it's all hush hush. My DH gets out at 3:00pm officially.
At my old job we had scheduled early closings on days like today. If you looked up the holiday schedule online, it would say good friday, 1:00pm closing. So people could schedule vacations accordingly. My current company doesn't do this because they want to let us out early, but they don't want people leaving earlier than scheduled. Like seeing that we get out at 1 then booking a 1:00 train so you're actually leaving at 12:30.
I have a half day - my boss is amazing! Happy Good Friday and Earth day :)
I'm off all day but I am on call so I'm carrying a pager and may need to go back at any point this weekend.
I work for non-profit so I get today and Monday off, but everyone I know who works corporate is working on Monday.
I worked for the credit union and we got have the entire day off. Majority of my friends do not have today off. When I was at my previous bank, I did not get either day off. Their philosophy was if the Federal Reserve is open then we are open.
I get off today and Monday (university has a 4 day weekend because we're Baptist). FH gets off today (most of the C-levels went to same university). Most of the schools in town are closed today (we only had 2-3 snow days so they made them up elsewhere I believe).
I don't think my brother has off- the only non-Federal holiday I think SUNY:B cancels class for is Rosh Hashanah.
I'm off today and my district also has off Monday, but it's my regular day off. We were supposed to have Wed and Thurs off too, but they became snow make-up days.
DH has off today as well. He works for a company driving truck and the owners are very religious so they close.
I have the day off because I went in yesterday instead. I work from home 3 days a week and the office 2 days, usually I go in Tuesday and Friday, but went yesterday instead. FI is working til 8-12 (usually works 6-6), everyone else in the office didn't have to come in, but he has to stay to get the UPS shipment.
I'm off today and Monday, then my 2-week vacation starts. YEAH!!!
For now I have Fridays off. I don't know if I'll still have Fridays off when I start my new job though.
