@nearlymarriedlass: I’m short so I’m not voting in the poll, but wanted to say when I was in middle school, there was a girl who was probably 5’10ish. She was also on the big side, so she got some heat from “the beautiful people.” One day she showed up wearing heels, and there was a change in how people reacted! It was obvious that she was confident in herself and didn’t give a shit what anyone thought, and people respected that. Not saying it changed her life, not saying nobody ever made fun of her size again, but fewer people did and less often. To this day, I remember seeing her in those heels for the first time. It was in science class. She was wearing jeans, a purple top, and 3-inch purple pumps. I thought to myself, “wow, I wish I was as comfortable being me as she is being her!”

I’m a tall 5’9″ and wear 4 inch heels. All. Day. Long.
My dad said it best: “if a guys intimidated by a tall woman in a pair of heels, he’s not a man and you don’t want him.”
Well said by a man who’s 5’8″ married to a woman who’s 6 feet tall.

I once had a teacher who was 6’2″, and she wore HUGE 4-6″ heels every day!
She was pretty awesome!

I wear heels if I’m dressing up and don’t give it a second thought. I have never understood why wearing heels would be a bad thing for a tall person. I’m 5’10” and if anything, I’d like to be taller.

I’m 5’4″ and I rarely wear heels, except for boots maybe. My two best girlfriends are both 5’10” and they both wear heels every day. Both of their husbands are also 5’10” and nobody seems to mind the extra height with the heels.

I’m not as tall as you, but I am just under 5’9″ and I love my heels! Luckily DH is 6’2″ so even with 4″ heels he is taller than me, so bring on the heels!

I am 5’8 and FI is 5’9 so I can’t really wear heels (I mean I can, but I never liked when girls are taller than their guys-it looks too wierd for me!)

I’m 5’8 and I still wear 3 and sometimes 4 inch heels around my 5’10 husband.

I am 6ft tall and I love wearing both heels and flats! I mostly wear heels to to work daily! My SO loves it and he is only 5 10! Doesnt intimidate him at all!!
Be proud of your height! It is beautiful!

I’m almost 6′ tall and insist on wearing heels for “going out”. I think I look stupid in flats, especially with skirts – long thin legs and big feet are not a good look! I wear flattish shoes to work though for practicality.
My OH is 5’10” so at the weekends I usually tower over him. He doesn’t mind as he likes me looking a bit glam. I’m not completely comfortable with being taller than him but I don’t like having big feet and feeling unfashionable.

I’m 6′ and at most, I’ll wear 2 inches. That’s not because I’m scared or ashamed, it’s just because I don’t like to be in pain!!! Before I was with DH (who is an inch shorter than me), I wore heels a lot more. Now, I just have a good excuse. I’m honestly just to lazy to deal with the pain of heels and use my height as an excuse not to!! I love flats!!

- Wedding: March 2014 - Brazil Room
I’m 6’0″ and my favorite shoes are a pair of wedge heel boots (probably about 2 1/2″ or 3″?). Why not? I tower over people anyway… might as well have a better view 🙂
I don’t wear heels over 3 1/2″ because for some reason my feet start to hurt really bad past that height. I used to not wear heels at all because I was ashamed at how tall I was (I was 5’11” by age 12… so you can only imagine the teasing…).
I’m a lot more confident now and being with a guy who is confident with his height too has really helped that.
