We have this argument every now and then. He says I am but that's because he has bad luck.

Well, Mr. P only got his driver's license a month ago! Yes, you heard me right. So yeah, I'm the better driver. Though he's actually really good.

i voted me by far.  He drives like an old lady... with apologies to old ladies, because he's worse than that!

Oh, man, me by a landslide.  I've only seen him drive once and it was because I forced him to practice driving around campus.  He was not happy with me.

My husband is def a better driver; where he comes from (Minnesota) the police are more diligent about giving out speeding tickets than they are here in CA, so he's grown up driving the speed limit and thus making better decisions and judgement when it comes to driving :)

My tendency to be impatient makes me the worse driver.

I'm totally the better driver - he's a craaaazy driver! Of course, I don't love to drive, especially in unfamiliar areas, so he drives more often.

I'd say we're about even. My ex was the worst driver EVER. I was terrified to be in a car with him.

    Me, hands down.

While he will try to argue that I have been in more accidents I immediately clarify that I have been hit...never hit someone. He is constantly getting tickets and driving like a maniac.

Hm, I guess I'd say myself.  I am definitely more cautious then he is.

BUT if there was ever an incident where a car stalled, a tire went flat, etc.  - he'd probably handle that a lot better than I would.  I'm completely clueless.

I'd say I'm a safer/more cautious driver but he's better at making quick maneuvers and he's better at parking haha. I don't love to drive, especially in unfamiliar places, so usually when we're together with a vehicle he drives.

Haha. I love some of these answers.

Mrs. DG-  I think my husband drives like an old lady, too.  lol

@sugarpea: I agree with this.  I drive like I'm a 90 year old woman and I'm super careful but I'm not good with areas or situations I'm unfamiliar with.  So he's better overall and drives way more often.

We both think that we are the better driver but I am still convinced it is me!

DH speeds and has gotten pulled over a bunch of times and has somehow managed to never get a ticket.  He got in one wreck (his fault) when he was 16 or 17.  He just seems to pay attension less when he is driving (misses turns going somewhere he's been 100 times, doesn't notice when the light turns green, etc)

I got rear-ended at 16 (so no fault of my own), slid into a curb on the ice at 17 going less than 10 mph (broke tire rod and hubcap), and rear-ended someone (totally my fault) at 23.  I've never been pulled over for speeding.

My husband. But, he's also a race car driver, so that helps a lot. He's been driving since he was 12, and he's a mechanic, so he can get into anything and drive. He does it everyday. I feel safest in a car when he is behind the wheel

I try to convince him that he's the better driver and so should do all the driving.  I hate driving.

@penguin: Very true. The police are very good about ticketing you for speeding here. DH got a ticket for going 88 in a 60 at the begining of the summer. Now when I say he is going to fast he actually listens to me- he doesn't want another $300 ticket. Oofta.

I think I am the much better driver. He tends to follow to closely to people and go to fast in bad weather. I must admit he is good at avoiding accidents, he says it is from a lot of practice on video games.

Well, what do you consider "better"? He is definitely more cautious, but he hits ALOT of potholes and he's not very considerate when on the road. He will be driving in the far right lane and someone will be coming along side him to merge onto the highway, he will BRAKE on the highway to let them in!!!! WTF! I get so mad when he does this. I tell him, move over. Do not drive in the right lane unless your exit is coming up. Watch for people coming onto the on-ramp so you can either speed up, slow down, or move over so they can get on.

I'm a very "aware" driver. I'm always watching what's going on around me, moving over so people can get on the highway without me being in their way, watching for potholes, watching for brake lights far ahead of the car in front of me, but I've been in one accident (was hit by a police officer blowing through a red light), and numerous parking tickets (I was a bit careless in my younger years). I can also get a bit of "road rage" when I see stupid drivers, when people are doing stupid shit and talking/texting, I tend to blare my horn :-D I can be such a bitch behind the wheel. Soooo, not sure what you consider "Better".

I'm much better! Even though I tend to speed and he religiously sticks to the speed limit, his driving scares me sometimes because he doesn't always pay close attention to the road and often makes turns too sharp or wide.

DH is definitely a safer driver in a lot of ways, but wow his driving bugs the crap outta me. I have to constantly remind myself in the car that my comments are probably annoying and rarely helpful. He just takes forever to get in front of people and is perfectly happy to stay at the end of a long line of cars rather than move to a better lane.

I drive faster than he does. Get honked at more. And have been in more accidents. But I do think I'm a smoother driver and more skilled at getting in spaces and out of jams.

So I guess it's a toss up depending on what you think is important in "good driving"
