We picked out invites out of an album at Kate's Paperie since we got married back in the olden days.
The designer was Dauphine Press.
Who is your invitation designer, whether you're buying them, having them custom made, or DIY'ing!
My designer was ordered through a guy named Bill from a local company called Signed and Sealed. I don't know why, but after we ordered (me a little sad they didn't have a particular paper I wanted) he tells us that he also does custom work, DOH! We had some customizations done, but I would have preferred he do the whole invite for us. Plus, the company we ordered them from was full of morons who kept messing up, we had to change the RSVP date twice because of them. The whole process was a mess, but oh well, most people just throw them out anyway I guess. We ordered them before I found Weddingbee, but if I knew what I know now I think I would have gotten them from Etsy.
I got my invites from www.etsy.com. They are airplane tickets, how fun are those.
@swoonie: i love whiteaisle invitations. they are definitely on the top of my list for invitations. can you offer anymore feedback about them?
Mine are by Aubrey Atlas (here's her design blog: http://atlasandcampbell.blogspot.com/ and here's her planning website: http://www.atlasprod.com/). She's just starting out, but already I'm having people clamoring at me to figure out who did my invitations/stationary/other paper products. She came up with an invitation for me that's unlike anything I've ever seen before!
we are having custom invites done locally. She doesn't have a website or blog yet (but she will soon). She uses Enveloppers products and does fabulous work! I can't wait to get all the little details finalized.
My designer was Happy Menocal in NYC (www.happymenocal.com) and they are SO awesome and SO us. We are so happy with them.
Mine is Karen of mtkdesigns - she's on etsy & has a blog www.mtkdesigns.blogspot.com.
She designed them & then I DIY'd the rest of it! It was a great experience!
I saw a few designs online but was never 100% satisfied, so I ended up purchasing an icon/stock image from one of those online photography/image stores and used PhotoShop to create my own invitation with the right font size and positioning I wanted.
My wedding invitation designer is www.gourmetinvitations.com. Tiffany designed my fabulous damask themed invites. You can find them under her blog by going to "Brandi's invitations". Tifany was amazing to work with.
i also used tifany from gourmetinvitations.com
she designed these for me:

she is great!
Tara from Ephemera Press! We discovered her from wedding bee (shout out to Mrs. Lovebug!) and she was incredible to work with. Super creative and very affordable letterpress.
We used the Damask-pattern invitation kits by Gartner Studios.
We're DIYing our invitations but hired a graphic designer off Etsy to deisgn them. She has been FABULOUS to work with, I couldnt be happier!
We are DIYing our invitations! I crafted a mock up of our invitation layout, and have asked a friend (Graphic Artist) to design the invitation for us based on our specifications! She also helped us with our monograms!
i am getting custom invites from http://www.madewithlovepaperie.com/
at first i was going to just get help in the design and then do the rest myself. but time flew by and next thing I know, i'm in crunch time!
Amanda is great. she takes your little ideas and will expand it into something beautiful. it's been so fun to work with her so far. i can't wait to get my invites. :-)
We are DIY'ing it all the way and let me tell you. I have not done the graphic design stuff but I jumped in head first and I am learning. UGH! But sometimes I feel like I am in WAY over my head by doing all this on my own with no idea of what I am doing. Just one step at a time!
Mr. D did, they're finished and waiting to go out. Not that I don't continue to redesign them in my head...gray...bust silhouettes...aubergine...
Our invitations were designed by Dyanna at White Raven Designs http://www.whiteravennest.com/Home.html . She also did our rehearsal dinner invites, the favors, escort cards, labels for cookie favors, table numbers...it was made of paper she did it.
I'm using a family friend. Her company is called Paper Hearts and she's completely customized a version of an invite I loved on elum (but it was WAY over my budget). It's been great to work with someone who knows me and understands where I'm coming from.
I'm doing my own as well which I love doing! I'm a freelance graphic designer, and can do yours too if anyone is looking for something custom. I have two featured on my website www.petit-bureau.com in case you're interested.
Leslie Chen - found her right here on weddingbee! She's amazing, and not only is she custom designing my invitations (plus ceremony programs and menus) for free, she also gets free metallic paper that perfectly matches our wedding colors so we'll save on paper costs as well! We also happen to know a lot of the same people (her high school prom date was my fiance's college roommate for two years) so that only added to the fun :)
Jen from Starshaped (okay, Jen IS Starshaped) is designing ours. She uses all antique type on her letterpress. I found her thanks to Brooklyn Bride.

The designer ~ that would be ME! (with a little help from a graphic desgner sister) Can't wait to get started and show you guys!
My awesome brother-in-law is a graphic designer and he's doing our invites etc. You can check out his website www.arimeil.com. Especially if you're a Mainer, he's really awesome to work with!
I went through etsy and found "paintingsbyshanon" who designed an invitation that I LOVE. (pics of the sample she sent me are on my blog). I can't wait to finalize our menu options so we can send Shanon our wording and she can get started!!

Not me though but my bestfriend. She raved about it for a month. At first, she was glad she was able to get an absolutely good price. Then after she got her invites, she was just plain ecstatic that the outcome exceeded her expectations. After I receive her invites, I do agree with her that they did a fantastic job. Their website needs some work though.
planning on laura hooper :) her calligraphy and style is so beautiful.
Me myself and I....aka the designer. I bought all the paper needed from bluedotpapershop.com and used the Stardream line. I'm also making DIY menus, programs, favours (small picture frame with each guests' names on them), seating chart and thank you cards to match the initations.
I am working with Etsy seller, LindseyRyanDesigns, who is creating these AMAZING invitations for us. She is totally creative, flexible, and inspiring. She also did Miss Perfume's invitations as well. We had a wierd request for our invitations. We want to do a larger scale vintagy looking map (15"x20") and embedded within the map will be all the invitation/rsvp/accomodation/etc. information. She jumped right on the idea and came up with all kinds of ideas. She's fantastic!
I got mine through EvaPaul design on etsy.com. I think they are great if you are looking for invitations with a modern look. They have completely customized their "Carly" invitation for us. They are prompt and have answered all of our e-mails very thoroughly. I'm excited to see the finished product in person.
I am very oroud to say--my future husband!
he's spent so many long hours on them! I could not be happier with them!
