One of our groomsmen. He’s a professional stand-up comedian so there really wasn’t any second thought about it 😉 BUT if we didn’t have him, I’d want someone charismatic, sweet, and who I can rely on to not get drunk by halfway through dinner! The biggest thing I find is making sure that the MC is relatively entertaining, otherwise everyone listening gets bored. I mean the speeches can be long enough for most guests, if the guy (or girl) in between is like watching paint dry you’re going to get some really booooored guests. I was at a wedding once where the MC was so awful (and the speeches were so bad) I ended up playing games on my phone with a friend (we were tucked in a back corner and also couldn’t hear anything because we were behind the speakers. All around, terrible.).

We didn’t have dancing, cake cutting, anything traditional really. We just had the people that worked there going to each table to tell them when to go to the buffet. If we were doing more, I’d just have the dj do it.

We didn’t really have one.  When I wanted to tell people something (e.g., announcing the cake-cutting), I’d just go over to someone on the venue staff and ask them to say it over the PA system.  It worked fine.

My Future Brother-In-Law is going to be doing it as he is also the DJ.

My brother.  He’s hilarious … I have no idea how he comes up with the things he does, but whenever I see him he has me on the floor laughing.  We didn’t want to pay for a professional MC would be cracking jokes all night about random things. It was a way we could incorporate my brother into the wedding and works out for us! It is going to be great, and we’re looking forward to it!!
