It seems like a weird question, but I absolutely hate my nails. I have wide and short nail beds, and I can’t seem to grow them without them flaking. I am so jealous of the women on here who have model hands and nails! lol Does anyone else have hideous nails?

I love my nails! They are the second thing I love most about myself, after my hair. (weird, huh?). I was blessed with long, narrow nail beds and healthy nails that grow long. A girl at Ulta even told me I have the perfect nails lol.
Have you tried taking vitamins for them? Do you ever wear acrylics? Acrylics can really damage your nails…

I hate my nails as well, they refuse to get long, very short nd stubby. I still try to keep them polished and pretty, so I feel a little better anout them! LOL

@agdluvstx: My nails bugme sometimes, but its my hands that bother me. I have TINY, short hands, but they’re chubby, too! lol

I like mine. I didn’t used to, but they’re much healthier now. Mine used to break and split so easily. I started keeping them short, started eating better and drinking more water, and they’re so much better now.

I used to HATE my nails, I also have short, wide nail beds – they always looked terrible and would peel and break as soon as they started growing even the tiniest bit. I started using Essie Millionails every other day and now they are strong and healthy and look great, even though I still have very short nail beds.

@IzzyBear: Nope, too poor for acrylics lol but I hear that gels can help strengthen them!
I have perfect hair, so I feel like I should have perfect nails to match 😛 at least I’m not the only nail-challenged gal here!

I have crappy, thin nails. If I don’t keep them manicured, they break in 10 seconds. I’m also terrible at painting them myself, so it’s a pain to keep them looking somewhat normal.

@AmyFarrahFowler: I am totally buying that the next time I go to Ulta. I have noticed when I use the Seche Viche or whatever you call it quick dry stuff my nails flake and it is so annoying, but when I take the time to use the normal top coats they look fine in between at home manis (I paint my nails every week).

Most of my nails are nice and long and pretty, but I have 1 or 2 that are shaped a little differently and look a little weird. Also my thumbnail on my right hand has been slightly messed up since I got it smashed between two field hockey sticks in high school. Oh well!

Taking care of my nails can be a real pain in the a$$ at times. But the feeling you get after a fresh manicure is incomparable and ssoooo worth it at the end! love love love painting my nails! (p.s. I always do my own manicures <3)

I used to like mine because they were pretty long and narrow, but not taking care of them has caused the quicks to push back further and further so they are kind of short and also uneven now :[

I like my nails. They’re ridiculously hard, really difficult to break and never split. They also grow like bloody weeds. The good thing is that I never have to spend money getting them done, but the bad thing is that I constantly have to shape/cut them to keep up with the growth, hehe.
