Looking for a budget-wise cake for my October wedding. A lot of the bakers around town either charge too much, or want an arm and a leg for delivery charges. Anyone out there who makes a good tasting cake at a very reasonable price – who will deliver/set up in the Peoria area??

Wedding date twin!!!!! 🙂
We are getting our cake at Publix from the bakery. It is vanilla bean with a raspberry filling and cream cheese frosting. It is called Raspberry Elegance. Since this is an encore for both of us, we are going a bit non-traditional and our wedding cake is one of those things-a full sheet cake, decorated with the swirly things (FI says it looks like a brain…guys!!!!) is costing around $115.00!!!! It is positively delicious!!!! A full sheet cake serves 80-100. The icing has a sort of gold/ivory sheen to it and we are having our monogram put in the middle.

I’m currently working with this lady. She’s great! she emails me concept sketches and works with my budget. Tell her Aimee referred you.

Oh yay, I’m so glad someone else liked Costco!
Lots of my friends turn their nose up, like "omg you aren’t spending $600 on cake?!" Uh, no…more like $70. And you’ll all love it! muah ha ha.

Just got married 4/17/09! I had the best cake ever from a baker located in the west side of the valley. Her name is Carla-Teeny and Tinys Cakes, here is her website teenyandtinyscakes.blogspot.com. her phone number is 480-262-8806 and her email is [email protected]. Great prices!

We went a little less traditional and had cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes (there’s one in Scottsdale and in Phoenix). http://www.nothingbundtcakes.com
We ordered a bunch of their pre-packaged bundltet cakes and set them out on a cake buffet of sorts after DH and I cut our "stunt cake" that his mom (who used to decorate cakes) made for us. They were SUCH a hit with our guests, since they could choose whatever flavor they wanted (we had 8 or 10 different flavors, they’re all delicious and super moist) and the best part was that our guests could it eat it there or take it to go!
They also have 8" and 10" bundt cakes. Just a suggestion, good luck!

We are getting our cake from My Goodness Cakes. Its owned and operated by Brian and he is the sweetest guy ever. It may be a little pricey for what you want, but the customer service will totally win you over. http://www.mygoodnesscakes.com/

I’m another vote for grocery store cakes too…that’s where mine will be from! I’ll get the cupcakes there and then a small 10" from a bakery I adore and total cost will be about $100. I don’t care for fondant icing and, while I love the look of a tiered cake, I don’t love it enough to spend hundreds on it.

Take a look at Sweet Pea Bakery. She sells her cakes out of Lola’s coffee bar and does custom orders. Her portfolio can be found on her website.
