When we went to get our wedding bands, DH was a little funny. I asked him if we were going to buy each other’s, I thought this is what was traditionally done. He told me no way, he already bought me and e-ring there was no way he was going to pay for another expensive ring for me. He said we could buy our own rings. He wasn’t being too serious about it, but I don’t know how much money he actually had available at the time (he was waiting on a student loan, and he had money at home not in the bank account).
Of course, when we were told the prices of the rings, his was more. It’s a larger band for a larger finger and needs more gold. His diamonds were smaller, but the diamonds on both bands were pretty small.
In the end, he paid the deposit (I forget what it was, but it was well under 50%, maybe 15%) and I paid when they actually came in. We have a joint bank account, and even our separate accounts we consider to be ‘our’ money so it doesn’t matter!

Since our money is together, we paid for them together 🙂

We bought our wedding bands after we moved in together and combined finances so we both paid for both I guess.

I think I will probably pay for both because I think my paycheck is the one that will go toward all things wedding (he pays the bulk of our household bills including our monthly mortgage so it’s only fair…).

Like the other posts above me, we bought them together since we have joint finances.

We have a joint account so we paid for them together..

We are joint and separate (in finances), and he paid for both.

Well, we have joint finances, but I’m still in school and have no income… so we “both” paid for them, but technically he’s earned all the money in our accounts… so I put he paid for them both.

When we started receiving money towards the wedding from our families, we used some of that to purchase the bands. I already had mine picked out hehe. He tried on some rings in store & I ordered his online. He seemed confused about it- “Shouldn’t I be the one to buy your band?”. I asked him what it mattered exactly, as it was coming out of ‘our’ money anyway. He then felt kinda silly

We used our “wedding account” for the rings so we both paid for them.

Technically DH paid for both, because his credit card was less full at the time. But really, we were getting maried 10 days later so it was ‘our money’. For us it didn’t matter. I picked them up and paid for the engraving/replating (for my e-ring). No big deal.

As we were engaged at the time and didn’t combine our money/accounts until after we were married, technically I paid for his band and he paid for mine.
But since all of our money is “ours” – we essentially paid for them together.

They were both paid for out of our joint account.
