It really depends. If you’re comfortable buying the dresses, go for it. I also don’t see anything wrong with having the parents buy them. I’m not sure what ettiquette would say, though.

We don’t have any flower girls in our wedding – – – My sister is my Maid/Matron of Honor and her 12 y/o daughter is a Jr Bridesmaid or Best Man – I don’t want my sister to fork over $ for her dress and my nieces so I’m paying for my nieces dress.  My sister is very appreciative as she wasn’t expecting it Laughing

I think typically the parents of the child who pay.

I think the parents usually pay. We opted to buy my nearly-niece her dress, and he mom bought her shoes. I know she appreciated that, and it wasn’t a huge strain on our budget.

I agree the parents of the child should pay.

Flower girls’ dresses are usually paid for by the parents of the child, but can really be bought by anyone. I bought the one for my daughter’s Flower Girl as well as her shoes, flower for her hair and silk purse. Everything together was far less than one Bridesmaid or Best Man dress.

I agree that typically the parents pay for the Flower Girl dress.  I think I may try to purchase the dress (since I want to pick it out!) and then ask them to help pay for any extras they may want/need.
