DH and I were having a nice, romantic dinner sans our kiddos the other day and we looked on as a couple got engaged while we were there. The man got down on one knee, proposed, she said yes, and then she pulled the ring out of the box and put it on her own finger. I was kind of surprised as I thought the guy did that. Well, at least mine did that! I even commented that she was in such a rush that she didn't even let her FI put the ring on her finger. That led me to wonder if you put the e-ring on your finger or if your FI did!
I honestly don't remember! I think he may have put it on my finger, but I think I showed him which one.
My husband put it on but I had to make sure to bend the others so he knew which one to put it on.
FI tried to put it on the wrong finger so I had to help the poor boy out a lil XD Sooo.. half and half I guess!
I don't remeber. I just asked FI and he said he did. I forgot what he said when he proposed.
I'm pretty sure he put it about halfway on, and I finished it. I totally don't blame the girl, though, I pretty much shoved my hand in FI's face so he would put it on faster!
He got the ring on half way, but doesn't always do well with his fine motor skills, so I had to finish putting the ring on before it fell. :-)
This is too funny. FI proposed and I screamed yes and cried and cried. Then he like froze. Like he was seriously frozen down on one knee and he was holding the box out to me! I whispered, "You have to put it on my finger." lol
So when I asked him about it he said he was still so nervous from the whole thing that his hands were shaking and we were up on Mt. Washington and he didn't want to drop the ring over the outlook. So he was trying to calm himself down and at the same time he was hoping I would just grab it and put it on.
Last year on Dec. 5, we were lying under the Christmas tree, enjoying a quiet night after having dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, when he sat up, shifted onto one knee and pulled out the ring box and asked me to marry him.
I remember it like yesterday! He opened the box, and then asked me and waited with a nervous look on his face for my answer.
I replied yes, and then he slipped the gorgeous ring onto my left hand.
I'm glad he did it that way. But seriously, when you're so in love, and so excited that you're future has taken such a wonderful turn, and you're surprised, I can believe all kinds of unexpected things would occur during an engagement!
Once I saw the girl cry, and cry and cry. The guy got confused (this was at a restaurant) and after a few minutes he asked her "Well yes or no?" and she was so happy, those tears were tears of joy, and she just kinda freaked out and then finally told him yes.
Hmm... I'm pretty sure he at least started it. I may have assisted to get it over the last knuckle/comfortable.
Lol, he sort of put it on, not all the way where I like it on my finger, so I helped it the rest of the way ;)
He proposed with the box, so I took the ring out of the box and put it on. I never got the impression he was going to put it on for me with the way it was presented.
He put it on. I threw my hand out there so hard I almost dislocated my shoulder I'm sure! Ha ha.
Haha I taught N which finger to put it on before he proposed, so he put it on (and successfully too)
I chose the option "I did" but I just asked him and he says he did it. I'd also said mistakenly in another thread we didn't have a photo taken that night, but he corrected me and said we took a photo and even remembered what I was wearing that night (I didn't) . I did find the photo and he was right about the outfit...So I'm sure he's right about this too. I guess I don't remember much about the proposal :) I think it meant more to him than it did to me. I just knew we'd end up getting married eventually so it was just a natural milestone along the way.
Dear hubby proposed kneeling, came up and hugged me. After a few seconds I told him "you still haven't put the ring on my finger" so he started to and I pushed it the rest of the way on.
I put it on my own finger because DH was afraid of jamming my finger...lol.
I made FI put it on my finger. He "proposed" while we were driving down the highway. I opened the box and starred at it for a while. He told me I could put it on, I told him that was his job.
he tried to put the ring on my finger, but put it on the right hand. he was all nervous and it didn't even go on all the way so i took it off and put it on the right finger!
haha, I did. But I remember thinking, "I wonder if he'll be able to get it on."
He put it on, I didn't even look at it until probably 2 minutes after he proposed. But when I did look at it, I saw that he put it on upside down. It's a heart shaped diamond and I wear it with the point towards me. lol, I even told him he put it on upside down. It was really funny! He was so incredibly nervous, I don't know why. He knew I'd say yes :)
Update: just asked DH and he confirmed that he put it on my finger :)
I think I did. We talked for awhile after he proposed, and in the middle of the talk, I just put it on. FI was like, "hey, that's my job!" Well, if ya snooze, ya lose, buddy!! :)
Lol I remember he made me close my eyes and I opened them to him on one knee with the box open. I snatched that ring out of the box like it was on fire meanwhile shouting yes! Then I said wait you have to ask me something!!
FI proposed with my ring still in the box! So after I said yes, he got up, and I unwrapped the ribbon and finally got to the black box, and opened it to see the ring. I'm not sure if he put the ring on me or if I did. He was so nervous I bet I was the one that did it.
I put my ring on my finger, because he was upstairs at his brothers house, which he was living with at the time, and I had put my bag in the bedroom downstairs and noticed there was a note on the bed, which I read and it was his proposal......which said that if my answer was yes, then to go to his Freddy Krueger doll hanging on the wall and get the ring that was hanging from the claw.....so I immediately put it on and ran upstairs:)
DH put it on my finger. I was completely shocked by how gorgeous it was- I was mesmerized!
I put it on. My FI still has no idea what finger the ring goes on and he was so nervous and I was so excited!
My ring didn't actually fit when he proposed so during the proposal no one put it on my finger! When it was finally resized I was so excited to put it on so I took it straight from the sales lady and slipped it on my finger in the store, didn't want to wait until we got home.
My guy handed it over to me so I could put it on, then I had him put it on my finger himself. He really had no idea, which was very endearing since he proposed to me at the most absolute best thought out moment. We had just finished a 450 mile bike tour across Iowa, and we were still in love after it!
I was SHOCKED when he proposed - it was not expected AT ALL. He gave me the box and asked and I put it on my finger I was so dumbstruck!
I kind of bust on him about that now, like when I take it off to do the dishes, etc., I ask him to put it back on all the time, haha
Hahahaha! That is exactly what happened to me :) I was crying so hard and he just stared at me and tried to hand me the ring and I whispered..."on you knee". Then he came over and put it on my finger. He said he was too nervous to think!
We bought the ring a few days after getting engaged, left the store and got back to the car. He put it on my finger as soon as we got in the car, in the mall parking lot. We then went to my parents' place to tell them the good news
