- Wedding: January 2010
And only 17 days to go!!
And only 17 days to go!!
Awesome – congrats? I’m waist (neck?) deep into wedding planning and every so often the voice inside my head goes “why waste all this money? Go to City Hall!”. Of course, when I mention that, Fiance says he wants the wedding and the party. And I have to bite my tongue from repeating the words inside my head of “you want it, you plan it.”
That sounds so romantic! Very impressive to pull it all together so quickly. What are your plans for the week in NYC?
Wow good job!
And I meant to insert an “!” after my first sentence. Not a “?”. Stupid typos, so I’ll resay it: CONGRATS!!!!!
Wow! Kudos to you, girlfriend! Fiance & I have thoughts of “We should’ve done it sooner”, too, sometimes. We got engaged March 2009. Our wedding is July 2011. I can’t wait, either! =)
Oh wow, congratulations!
It sounds like it is going to be a very sweet and lovely wedding! Best wishes and congratulations!
@Goldilocks– I hear ya, it just got to be so overwhelming so we decided to just sneak away for a romantic night. We didnt want city hall though, thats why we were so excited to have found this “one-stop-shop” b&b!! We’re still planning on having a huge reception- but maybe in a year.
@Girlwitharing– So far all we are doing is going to see The Lion King. What other suggestions might you have for us?
Thanks everyone! I must say- seeing everyone’s ideas on WB have certainly helped me pull through with all the plans!
So cool! Can’t wait to see the picts!
@dancy- me too! I cant wait.. its coming up so soon too!
Awww! Congratulations! How exciting!
@Arancia – I love the Lion King – that’s a great pick! I would definitely scope out some restaurants you like ahead of time and make reservations – walking around in the cold looking for places to eat = not fun. And you’re more likely to get roped into a tourist trap type of place. We love Alice’s Teacup and Max Brenner’s and always take guests there. For dessert, there’s great bakeries in most neighborhoods – there was a thread about these in the NYC board recently.
We love the museums in NYC – I would definitely recommend the Met (always free), MoMA (free Friday afternoon/evening), Guggenheim (free Saturday evening), and Frick Collection (free Sunday morning). If you’re into concerts or opera, the Lincoln Center has amazing performances.
We recently went ice skating in Central Park and that was a lot of fun as well.
Congrats again and have fun in NYC!
