A few years ago I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia. (Someone has since mentioned to me that the method used to diagnose has been outdated but I have not been retested). Lately I’ve been really struggling with feeling well. First of all about a month ago I was diagnosed with acid reflux which I think can be blamed on the large amounts of stress I’m facing right now I think. But if my symptoms do not get better soon I will be going back to the doctor to see what is causing it.
Anyways, my schedule is all over the place. And I find that no matter how hard I try I either feel sick because of my acid reflux or because of my hypoglycemia For instance I will wake up at any time between 5am-7am, get ready, and eat breakfast. Within three hours I will be hungry again so I will either eat a snack or full out eat a meal. If I eat a full meal I will be hungry again at three or four and then I won’t want dinner until really late. My schedule will be completely all thrown off.
And I find that if I snack at 10am and eat lunch and dinner at the regular times I’m starving right before bed. But because of the acid reflux I can’t eat within two hours of being in bed or I’ll have awful esophageal contractions which are very painful. Either way I feel awful in the morning. If I snack before bed against my rules and wake up eight hours later I’m tingly in my fingers, my head is nasty, and I just feel plain nasty. There is a history of diabetes so I’m not sure if it’s hidden or if it’s just that I’m not taking care of my hypoglycemia.
I’m completely wiling to go to the doctor for it. As of right now I don’t have a personal doctor, I’ve just been going to an immediate care for everything since I’m not often sick and I wouldn’t know even where to begin to select my own doctor. But I’m not sure who I should see? The same doctor who helped me with my acid reflux? Find a nutritionist to help me find out healthier ways to eat?
I just feel like with my busy schedule I eat too many carbs (and probably simple ones at that). While my family tried to teach me how to eat by making healthy food when I lived there, most everything was too complicated for me to find the time or the energy to make right now. (or find the money to make such dishes)
ETA: I’m not overweight I don’t think. I’m around 125 and 5’4″
