Just five days from the wedding and this hits me:
We did not invite our ceremony guitarist to the cocktail hour/ reception! I am just making the table cards for the vendor table, and realised this. Should we invite him? Is it rude not to? We are paying him $280 to play for one hour, and are also unsure about how much to tip him. Thanks Bees!

Unless he is a friend, there is no need to invite a vendor for the ceremony to the reception.
Are you paying a company or just paying him directly in cash or check? If you are paying a company an extra $20 would be nice, but if its directly to him then no need to tip. The money is all his anyway.

No he is there to work not socilize. We are having a String Quartet for ceremony and cocktail hour. I wouldn’t mind them taking last 15mins to have a drink and few appeitizers but given that they will be there for three hours only and not the full day like my other vendors I’m not paying for them to have dinner.

I didn’t invite my harpist to our reception nor did I tip her. I feel like I paid her enough already for 2 hours of work/driving.

He wouldn’t know anyone right? I wouldn’t invite him.
