I used to and found the side effects less than the traditional pill, but I cannot handle horomones.

Check the website for a coupon. About 6 months ago I was on it and they covered half of my copay for the first 6 months. That was $20 per month for me, and a nice savings.

@katherin788:  I used it for almost 2 years, no side effects. I loved it! I just had to remember to put it a new one once a month, anytime during the 24 hour window. My cycles were exactly 28 days.

I have been on it for the past 4 years but I am going off of it next month. I am switching to Mirena. I loved that I only had to take it once per month and my periods were like clockwork and lasted only 2-3 days. I am switching because I can’t deal with the hormones – it has significantly lowered my sex drive (my doctor said this is a very common side effect, especially with long term use).

I love it! I was on the evra patch for yearssssss but my compliance was less than stellar…. I went in hoping to get a mirena, but my gyn was hesitant to insert it because i had never given birth. She suggested the nuva ring and i adore it. I set an alarm on my iphone so i remember to take it out/put it in once a month, and then i just forget about it! It does a great job controlling my cycle, eliminating cramps, reducing flow and even works on my light stress acne. Im very pleased.

@katherin788:  I started using a Nuvaring because I have PCOS and with other pills I’ve had every side effect imaginable. I still get some migraines with the Nuvaring but the advantages far outweigh the negatives, for now at least. Hope it works for you.

@katherin788:  I use it, and have no complaints about weird side effects. If you’ve never used it before, it may take a few tries to get it to a comfortable spot. A little weird the first time, but I love not having to remember a pill.

Also, do yourself a favor and DON”T put it in while sitting on a toilet. The ring can be slippery and uh… fall into the bowl. Which, by the way, pharmacists don’t appreciate. I have a few samples from my gyno that I keep in case of an emergency.

My favorite thing is keeping my rings in the cheese drawer of the fridge. Cracks me up every time I go in for some mozz.

@katherin788:  Used to use it, loved it, miss it.  Had to switch to non-hormonal, hate condoms.

I used it for a few months but had a bad experience and switched back to my pill. It caused dryness to the point that my skin down there was really irritated, so never wanted to have sex.

I am using Nuvaring and have been for a few years now. The only side effects I have are a slightly reduced sex drive, but not enough that it is causing any problems.

I’ve been on the NuvaRing for about 5 years now.  No side effects at all.  I’m completely in love with the thing!

I used it for 2.5 years, and aside from the fact that it demolished my sex drive, I didn’t really notice any side efffects.

What I CAN say is that now that I’ve been off it for almost six months, it has completely messed me up, I don’t think I’m ovulating, and my cycles are long and unpredictable.

Can’t say I’d recommend it if you’d like to get pregnant afterwards.

I used it for about 8 years with no issues whatsoever. I went off of it when we were ready to TTC and got my BFP the first month off of it.

@katherin788:  I just got off the ring 2 1/2 months ago after being on it for 3 years. I loved it when I was on it! The only side effects I noticed was my appetite went crazy the first month I was on it and I did put on a few pounds. It did kill my sex drive some, which I didn’t notice until I went off of it. I did notice the longer I was on it my periods got shorter and it took longer for them to get here. When I first started I got my period 2-3 days after taking it out and needed to wear pads/tampons. At the end I would get my period 5-6 days after taking it out and it never got heavy enough to use more than a pantyliner because a new ring went in 6-7 days after taking it out. My appetite did go back to normal after I stopped using it.
