I don’t have any brothers.. my dad is obviously walking me down the aisle.. at first we thought we’d just ask the best man or a groomsmen.. but then I thought maybe his dad & my mom could walk down at the same time.. his parents are divorced, and his mom is sickly, so she most likely won’t walk down the aisle to be seated, she’ll just sit when she gets there.
For those who didn’t have a brother/cousin to escort your mom, who did you have do it?

The best man walked my mom down. If your mom has any grandkids I think it’s cute for them to walk them in…… My nephew who is 12 walked in my step mom which was her grandson b/c the best man walked my mom in.

When I was MOB, I had my Dad (bride’s Grandfather) walk me in. Do you have a Grandfather or favorite Uncle?

At most of the wedding that I have been to the best man does it.

No grandfathers, or grandkids to do it.. my dad has a twin brother who is my godfather.. that might really throw people (friends mostly) off who don’t know they’re twins, they’d see him walk my mom then all of the sudden he’s back walking me lol
I like the idea of the bestman doing it.. my sister has a longtime boyfriend.. they plan to get married one day.. maybe have him do it.
Thanks for the suggestions!

OMG, this had me cracking up! It’d be like a cartoon!
My mom and I were just discussing this yesterday. My sister’s ex, A, is very close to the family and they are still super close even though they’re ex’s… So if he can make the wedding, he lives back in Israel now, he will be walking my mom down the aisle.
I cannot picture the BM walking my mom down the aisle, I don’t know why, so… If A can’t make it, then she’s going to sashay down the aisle herself.

@Handful: even if she has a son? There’s no way I would want the best man walking my mom down the aisle when I have a brother who I would want to do it. Actually even if I didn’t have a brother, I wouldn’t have the best man walk her down because we don’t get along at all.
