I'm re-beginning Weight Watchers to get 15 pounds off for the summer!
Going to do that and an hour of cardio a day!
So far I've been taking long walks and loving that..also downloaded some fun songs as well as books to ipod to make it more enjoyable.
Who is in this with me? We could make this a thread that will go on and on!
I'm in...I've got a deal with DH that I get to buy the JCrew dress I posted the other day if I can fit into it. I comes in a 0-10, so I've got some work to do.
Check out this thread for support:

We used to have Wednesday check-in but the motivation flagged around week 5. I think it was difficult to get everyone checking in on a regular basis because we kept slipping on and off the wagon.
Good luck!
Maybe with our thread here, the "weight loss buddies" it might work!
I might not remember the name of such a long thread, but "weight loss buddies" I can remember.
How about continue as you did with Wednesday Weigh in?
Let's do it! Doctorgirl rocks btw!!!
I'm in as well. I already do Weight Watchers online and my regular checkin day is wednesday, so it works out great...
Sounds good to me! I've been doing really good since I moved out to California. Here are a few of my weight loss tips (I am loosely following weight watchers also);
I'm in. I was doing really well, eating smaller portions and walking. Then came Memorial Day and I fell off the wagon big time. I'm ready to get motivated again.
I'm in Bellnga! I just started using my pedometor yesterday (that I got 6 months ago)...and have been on my treadmill and eating well for the last 4 days. Yayyyy! We can do this!!!!
I think one important key in staying motivated is when you pig out (ala Memorial Day or a random Friday night), get back on track with the very next meal -- not the next day. Slips up are healthy but if you let that distract you from your plan, that's when it goes downhill!
Geez. I am so tired. Up late doing loads of laundry and had a not so fun day (except for the walk) cleaning up. I did find something interesting (went thru old boxes that are going up to attic)..my PEDOMETER!!!
Yay! I will have one too! Two years ago at my work, they gave them out to all employees (a hospital). I'm going to put that puppy to work tomorrow!
Who's going to diet with me?
I have btw a new secret indulgence. It's good...
Kashi Island Vanilla shredded wheat squares and organic skim milk! OK by weight watchers standards.
LMAO!!!! I JUST went & put his work clothes in the dryer! I feel ya Bellenga!!!
And I'm listening to Mark Wills....swoon....all good, Jack (the bald cat) is sleeping, D is sleeping, all good in the hood... :)
I'm so in.
My FI and I went for a walk today for about 50 minutes.
Yay...that's a start.
I'm going to try the 30 day shed and not eating after 7pm.
definitely IN!!
Why this can´t just happen by some magical power!!
The hardest thing I have to fight every day: Is winter here, to me Winter= HOT COCO!! yeahh chocolate!! and a big fat cookie to go with it :( this is HARD!
I'm in too! I could lose 10 pounds to make the dress fit better and so I will look good for the honeymoon in the Bahamas. I have a whole DVD fitness library with all sorts of workouts of varying type and length of time. Step-aerobics, strength-training, pilates and core workouts. I chose by time and energy levels. For example, today I will not get to work out until after 10 pm and I just don't have the energy for step-aerobics that time of night. Instead I will do a half-hour walk at lunch and pilates tonight.
MY problem is emotional eating and night-time eating and I am still trying to deal with those issues.
I'm in too!! Just went through summer clothes from last year and got really disappointed in myself. I lost 40 lbs. last year by eating no sugar and white flour and counting calories. Then met my FI and thought I could handle it, but, I'm one of those people who look at food and gain weight:( Been exercising, but that isn't cutting it either, so back to what I know will work! We can do it!!!
@joylucero--I get the same way for the winter (good thing we are jumpstarting now lol!). Best solutions I've found in that case are finding light alternates.. instead of hot cocoa try a yummy hot tea, instead of cookies I go with a handful of M&M's and limit it at that!
I'm in! I've been doing Weight Watchers for about 3 months, and am down almost 20 lbs. I've been walking, using weights, and having Jillian Michaels kick my butt into gear! Work it ladies!
I'm in too!
@stormy9973 - I am doing the same diet. Five years ago I lost 35 pounds in a matter of 3 months... now I'm doing the same diet and I've lost 5 pounds in 6 weeks (and then proceeded to put the 5 pounds back on!).
I'm going to the gym about 5-6 times a week, doing at least 30 minutes of cardio each time and one super intense personal trainer workout per week.
I love this thread!
Going for a nice long walk and run now! I've downloaded some books onto ipod and it's fun! My neighborhood has plenty of hilly areas to get the legs working well!
I'm also struggling w/nighttime snacking. that is actually my only vice.
I'm off now! Book I've been listening to for the last 3 days is "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Fun, wierd, and quite silly.
Going to bed..but had to add something else I'm doing.
Having a vitamuffin top for breakfast in the am. Rarely snacking anymore. Trying to drink water (not a big water fan, but drinking lemon water). Eating much less meats. Much more now eating several (sometimes 2x a day) the amy's organic frozen dinners..which are mostl y gluten free and organic and vegeterian!
I'm trying to really get this going!!! My goal is a more defined abdomen and waist and of course a bit smaller thighs!
Checking in to see how everyone is doing? I'm doing fairly well this week. Been drinking my water and watching my calories. Been doing 200 crunches every morning and every other day doing arm weights! Good luck to the rest of you!!
I'm in! My goal is to work out five days a week, three days straight cardio (at least 45 mins) and two days of cardio (30 mins) with upper body free weights. Maybe throw some yoga in here and there if I can.
Well its Wednesday! I've been doing pretty well this week, trying to drink a lot of water and avoid snacking between meals. I also feel a real lack of energy this week, not sure why.
Since I started my weight loss plan (May18, so ony 2.5 weeks), I've lost about 6 lbs. I definitely feel better but want to knock down two more by next Tuesday (my bday!).
How is everyone else doing this Weds?
I'm in, I need to get healthier and tone up (losing a few lbs wouldn't be a bad thing either!) Goals: Eat healthier (no/very little fast food, no pop), snacking healthy (peanuts, fruit) workout 5 days a week! Ok, I can do this!
Alright ladies, I had a success moment tonight and have to share! After three months of hard core healthiness, I am definitely beginning to feel the rewards. I tried on a Juicy Couture Dress tonight and it fit! Woohoo! I didn't like the dress (too ruffly), but the fact that it fit made everything right in the world for that moment in the dressing room :-) I was incredibly anxious about shopping for wedding dresses, but am feeling much better now, yeah!!!
Power in numbers!!! I decided to create a blog about my road to fitness to keep me accountible. It seriously makes a difference to know I have to report your bad food behavoir and also motivates me because it makes me want to share triumphs!!
cynthias225 - that is awesome! I've been noticing my jeans are fitting a little better but I can't wait for the woo hoo moment when I put on a slinky dress and I look hot!
MaPo - what is your blog address, I'll add it to my daily reads :)
Hello!
I have trouble giving myself credit for little bits of progress when I should be patting myself on the back! I have working over the past month to kick start a slim down and I measured myself last month at my starting point. Then, at my one month mark I measured again. I was nervous because I didn't think I had done very well all month, but I lost at minimum 1/4 in all areas and even 1 full inch in my hips! I was so excited, especially because I thought I hadn't made any progress. The next day I checked the scale and I was down 3lbs. Not what I would want from myself after a month of trying to be more mindful with eating and adding in exercise, so I know if I hadn't measured and been able to see the real progress, I wouldn't be as enthused and motivated as I am now. Do you all like to bust out the tape measure?
MaPo
Right now I'm not going by "tape measure" or "scale" numbers (even though I do hop on the scale pretty regularly)... I'm going on the way I feel. I've been eating A LOT less junk so that has made me feel pretty good and healthier. I'm also enjoying rediscovering the real taste of real foods. It's still early in my weight loss journey so I haven't pulled out the tape measure yet.
On another note -- I bought the new Kashi's Honey Sunshine Cereal and I love it! It tastes like Corn Pops but less sugary and only 100 cals (2 WW pts) per serving. Has anyone else found new snacks that have replaced junky snacks?
@ GaBGal: My fiancee and I have both gotten hooked on Fiber 1 products. HungryGirl (Lisa Lillien of hungrygirl.com) uses a lot of Fiber 1 in her recipes and introduced me to the wonderful world of Fiber 1 products. We love the Fiber 1 chocolate bars, that just taste like fabulous chocolate chip granola bars. We marvel at how they get so much fiber in, and they taste so good. Those are 2 WW points each. I'm also into the Fiber 1 pop tarts for breakfast when I'm in a rush. Seriously, I don't think I've had a pop tart since I was ten years old, but these are tasty. I'm partial to the brown sugar ones, and they're only 3 WW points for a quick breakfast. I also get these yummy 100 calorie veggie chips that are only 2 WW points, yum!
Down 1 lb. Oh well.
Going for a long walk this evening with my son! Weather is gorgeous.
Glad to find out about the tip for the Kashi cerea! I love corn pops. Like Jerry Seinfeld, we have tons of cereal around here!
I was bad and skipped breakfast. But does saving 300 cal count??? I know..shouldn't do it..but I zzzzz through it as I've been working hard!
@cynthias225 -- OOOH, I've been craving pop-tarts for awhile! I'm going to the store tomorrow so I'll check those out. I've had the fiber chocolate bars but they are so good I eat like 3 at a time lol
@bellenga -- I just said the same thing about Jerry Seinfeld to FI! If cereal wasn't so expensive we'd have a whole shelf dedicated but we always have at least 3 boxes. No worries on skipping breakfast, as long as you felt satisfied with the rest of your meals ... it happens. Yesterday I completely skipped lunch and it threw me off, but I'm back on track now!
I'm in!
I did a Pilates video tonight and some arm weights. I went to the grocey store tonight and bought as much healthy food as I could. I've been back on the workout wagon for the past week and have already seen a difference on the scale. Sweet. :)
I am huge apples and natural peanut butter fan. You have to watch your peanut butter intake, but it's such a great snack and for a vegetarian like myself (well, pescartarian officially) because it's a great way for me to add protein.
I'm in!!! I just bought a bathing suit and am really upset with my legs!
I'm cutting down my fast food and unhealthy food intake
I've been going for a half hour walk every morning with my fiance. I'm trying to add a second walk or ride my bike after lunch. I did manage that 3 days last week. But the weekend always throws me off schedule. My fiance and I did go for a walk each morning, but they were shorter than usual. Of course, we did bust our butts doing yardwork, housework, etc. But I still feel like I missed out.
Yay! I just had to share this little success benchmark. Today is my bday and a month ago I wanted to be down to 140 by my bday so I started doing weight watchers and easing into moderate exercise (mostly long walks but a little Jillian here and there). Today I hopped on the scale at it read 139.5! Woo hoo! When I first moved here (a month ago), I was about 148. I know weight fluctuates throughout the day but I'm really excited! I've noticed my clothes fit a little better (but there is still improvement there) and I just FEEL better not eating a lot of junk. Every year I usually buy myself a little something for my bday but since I'm not working right now, I guess this is my gift to myself! I hope I can keep it up... maybe I should set myself another goal!
