I’d prefer just the 2 of us, but a few others are fine. We are both shy, so a crowd will not be happening. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy though

I’ve already told him that he could propose while we are cuddled on the couch watching TV. He’s said he’ll come up with something better than that.

I wanted a big romantic proposal, since DH is great at big romantic gestures and not so much with tiny, day to day stuff!

I never told him my preference, but he planned a wonderful, total surprise proposal at Niagara Falls (next to the Bridal Veils Falls), and a surprise engagement party with all of our friends that night!

@MissStruggles:  I wanted romantic, but just the two of us. He proposed in front of the Beluga whale tank at the Atlanta aquarium. Right after, a guy with a microphone pulled us up to the tank and I saw that there was a second level and a huge group around us.

    I was a bit embarassed.

Haha good topic 🙂 I don’t care, kitchen or jumbotron is fine by me. Most likely we’ll just decide to get married someday, like conversation style, which is also fine!

I really don’t care.  As long as I get a proposal, I’m happy!

I told him I didn’t want one, and I didn’t get one lol. I saw my dream ring online and we ordered it then and there. We had discussed marriage for months beforehand and had pretty much considered ourselves engaged for a while (just between ourselves, not to the world until I got to wear the ring etc.).

I definitely would like something with just the two of us, although if it happened in a nice, romantic, quiet restaurant, that would be OK too. But other than that, I’d be happy with something happening while just hanging out in our house, or something that’s a bit of a production. Just as long as our parents are NOT there and it doesn’t take him too too long to organize. 😉

I personally don’t care, as long as it’s heartfelt and not in front of a TON of people. 🙂

romantic. But romantic for him, which can still be pjs at home, but just heartfelt and not a ‘so, I bought you this’…. Ie he’s actually got to say the question!

@MissStruggles:  I wanted a grand gesture, no preference for public or not, but NO FOOD. I just wanted it to be special and not accidentally swallow the ring haha. And I didn’t even have to voice any of that to him, he was intent from the start on doing something “big.” He couldn’t have done better – taking me on vacation back to the country where we met (Japan) and proposing on one knee with a speech by a secluded koi pond in a beautiful zen temple garden.

The best part though, was that he did it toward the BEGINNING of the vacation, so I could enjoy being *engaged* for the rest of the trip. If any dudes, proposing ladies, or ladies who are voicing preferences to their dudes read this, and are considering a holiday proposal, do it near the beginning!!

I was proposed to twice in the same location-talk about bizarre.  If my husband had known my ex fiancé had proposed to me there, I’m sure he would’ve chosen someplace else, lol.

I wish it had been a little more creative, but I guess the proposal isn’t that major.  We’ve been married 11 years now. 🙂 I just love this board because I miss how fun it was to plan a wedding, and for the beautiful jewelry pics! 🙂
