I am in that awkward stage where 75% of our apartment is totally packed...and I have packed too many things that I need.

I am sitting here angry that I packed my Keurig.  Not to mention last night our power went out, and I had already packed all of our candles and a lighter.  DH suggested I go buy some more and read, but I'd have to buy a book, since I have packed all those too.

We move in 6 days, and I am grouchy that I have to move alone, again.  DH won't be home until the 18th.  I am very crabby today, and I don't want to pack anything else.  Not to mention that I need some help! Who wants to join me? I will reward you with pizza and cupcakes ;-) Oh, and lots and lots of wine!

@MrsSl82be: Aww, thank you! I know you would! I hate moving.  We purposely picked the date because DH KNEW he'd be home.  Wrong again! Boo :-(

@Lindsay12.31.2010: I feel the same way about moving. I told hubs not again until we can afford to have people do it for us! I so feel your pain. But at least I had him, plus a few big guys to help us, so by the time everything was being unloaded, I could start unpacking. I was so glad that I labeled all the boxes, so people didn't have to ask me about every box

Awww moving is the worst!  I wish I was there to help, well at least help you enjoy your wine.  :)

The last 10% of a move I usually just find myself throwing stuff in boxes, no rhyme or reason to it anymore. Any form of organization suddenly goes out the window because I am just over it by that point.

    Totally feeling your pain today.

@MrsSl82be: Well, I do have that in my favor.  I labeled all of the boxes with neon labels.  Right now we live in a one bedroom apartment but are moving to a bigger place with an upstairs, so I will need people to help sort them out.

@MissAsB: That seems like a fair trade :-) I don't mind helping other people move, but when it comes to my own stuff....that's another story.  I just packed some, and then decided to eat an ice cream bar.  Now I'm watching Sex and the City.  LOL.

@panterapeach: that was how it was for us. We both worked full time, I had to finish my last 2 weeks of college, and we still had to pack. It was pure madness the night before and morning of. I was packing up until we left!!!

@Lindsay12.31.2010: at least you can spread out some! But you know? We went from basically the size of a 2 bedroom apt to a 3 bed 2 bath house with basement, and we still had plenty of stuff to fill it with! I couldn't believe how much we actually had until we moved...

How far away are you moving?  Our move should be easy since we will stay in the same town so I can move piece by piece without having to pack everything and not have access to it for weeks.

@panterapeach: I totally see the throwing everything in boxes stage.  That is kind of where I am now.  I would share my wine with you.  We ended up with an extra 2-3 cases after the wedding - so I've got plenty to go around.

@MissAsB: Oh, we are just moving across town! I just have to move everything in six days, 4 of which I will be working all day!  I do have a moving truck though, so I was hoping to get everything in one trip, if possible.

Where in Missouri do you live? My DH and I just moved across town this past weekend so I know how you feel. Moving is never fun but it's always nice when you finally get settled in.

@bride21: We live in Columbia.  Not too far from you! About three hours.  You are near my hometown, Lebanon! I went to MSU my first semester!

@Lindsay12.31.2010: That's cool! I have lived in Salem, Bolivar, Buffalo, and Pleasant Hope as well as Springfield. I like seeing that other people on here live close by. It makes me feel closer to some of you. :)

@Oneeleven: Worst decision, ever.  I was in a packing frenzy that day.  I've been hitting Starbucks like crazy, but I don't want to drive there right now.  It was definitely a poor choice.

I made hot tea yesterday (I usually use the Keurig for the hot water) and joked to DH that I had to boil water like a peasant.  LOL.  Ahh, the things we take forgranted...

    @Oneeleven: I know...it was terrible...especially considering I only had one pot.

Haha! I always used to just boil water.  That Keurig has spoiled me, big time.

When I moved out of my college apartment, I packed my toothbrush and toothpaste (I still had one night to stay). Then couldn't find it. I had to drive to the store and get a bunch of personal items I packed up. :-/ At least you just had to make a Sbux run! lol.

@TheLionQueen: Haha, that sounds like something I would do too! I have all of the essential bathroom items in a clear tub with a lid, that way I can just throw the lid on and go!

@Lindsay12.31.2010: That is a good idea, for sure! I packed all my bathroom stuff in boxes! Bad idea. Deff bad idea. For me, that's the worst part of moving...knowing what to pack first and where.

@TheLionQueen: Well I should be an expert - this is the second time in two years I have moved our stuff without DH! I did pack my business phone charger so had to dig through a few boxes to find it.  I should have just bought a new one.

Right now I am running the last load of dishes through the dishwasher so I can pack them too.  I am down to paper plates, disposable silverware, a saucepan and a skillet.  Plus I already cleaned out the oven so no baking ;-)
