I thought I would want to get flotaki rugs for my house. I had them growing up and I love them, plus they’re easy to keep clean. But the other day I fell in love with a rug and it blew my childhood love out of the water. But I cannot pick a color. DH does not care So who wants to help??
Color #1: Ivory. I love the dimension of color in this photo and how neutral it is, but will I like it in my already neutral living room?
Color #2: Red. I love red. It’s my favorite color. But will the color be too harsh and bright in my living room because its already so neutral?
About my living room: Not big by any means, but enough for us. Grey walls. Taupe/black furniture with blackish brown shelves and table from ikea. We also have a skinny floor glass vase in a corner that’s red (only 2 photos on weddingbee).
So bees what is your opinion?

I’m not a huge fan of the pattern, but I’d go with ivory if you like it. I’m not a fan of black/white/grey/red.

I love the geometric/succulent pattern but I’m really torn on the color as well. The neutral color would be much more useful as you could punch it up with a rainbow of throw pillows or framed pictures. But the red is just gorgeous & would really add some pop to the room but then you’d be stuck with a pretty particular color scheme… I’d probably go with the neutral color & get some bright red throw pillows!

I like the ivory better, personally.

I love the rug! I’d go with ivory and then accent in brighter/darker colors. Have fun!

Ivory for sure! Then you could add colour with photos, throw pillows or blankets, etc.
Red is awesome, but like other PPs stated then you are stuck with the red colour scheme.

Don’t get me wrong I LOVE the red! But I think Ivory would look better and accent with more reds, or darker colors as suggested.

Rugs can be expensive. I would rather get my hits of color in less expensive accent pieces like pillows, vases. etc.

I love the red but I do agree with others who’ve said get the ivory. If you ever got tired of red you wouldn’t have to buy a new rug, just new accent pieces.

I’m thinking the same, the ivory would keep it bland though you could maybe add some colored pillows to brightenit up… I’m going to go with red… maybe later on you could find a nice painting,or something so it fits in better.

You bees are always amazing. Thanks to everyone staying objective even if you dont like it personally. The ivory is actually out of stock, probably beacuse its so pretty. Im waitlisted =( Red is ready to ship. I’m in no super hurry. No one thinks my living room would be too bland with it?

@MASPA: Where did you find this rug? I absolutely love it! We have a small living room too and are looking for a nice neutral rug that. Our colors are green, cherry/brown furniture, and splashes or cream and blue. So, I personally love the ivory. 🙂

I love the red!!!!!!!! I do agree though they are a lot more expensive than buying red accents. I would probably go with the safe Ivory but get lots of fun red accessories!
