oooh, I can make mine SOOOOO long, but here is the short version:

my fiance and I live 2200 miles apart–he’s in seminary in southern california, I’m working in the Chicago suburbs.  we usually make plans to see eachother every 6-10 weeks, but this week in october it had been 6 weeks and we were only halfway to seeing eachother again!  I was convinced I was getting a ring over thanksgiving weekend…and that there would be no surprises.

One night in October my aunt and uncle asked to take me out to dinner to thank me for house sitting for them a few weeks prior.  They, my grandparents, and I headed downtown to Navy Pier, parked, and walked down the pier, outside.  As we were a few hundred feet from the edge of the pier, I heard my name being called and turned around to look.

There stood my handsome fiance, dressed up and looking so nervous and excited!  I was so shocked to see him I stood still for a second, then dropped my purse and started running.  After a suffocating hug and many tears, he dropped down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.

I said, "of course!",  cried, laughed, and shook from excitement.  After some pictures and farewells, we boarded The Odyssey and went on a 4 hour dinner cruise–the best night of my life, so far.

THanks Lillindy.  Reminding myself of this story makes me happy, now that it’s long past and I’m in the stress of wedding planning.  :-)(oh, and here’s photo of us about 30 second after the proposal!) [attachment=148975,7834]

Well, on our 3 year anniversary, we had a trip to DC. We stayed in a very nice bed and breakfast, and just enjoyed some sights and being with each other. The unfortunate weather was kinda bad, because we were freezing our butts off in the wind and chill, but we made the best of it. It actually snowed, even though it was in April.

Here’s two pictures of the bed and breakfast we stayed at.

The proposal was unique in a way, because it was done in our b&b bathroom, yes, the bathroom, of all places, lol. But it was a really nice bathroom with some angel murals and a high dome ceiling and a clawtub, it was a quite romantic room/bathroom.

It was in the morning and I was brushing my hair and suddenly he came up from behind me and told me how much I meant to him, and how much he loved me, and how much he wanted to be with me forever, it was the sweetest thing! And then he went down and asked if I wanted to be with him forever, and of course I squeed and we hugged and kissed for a long, long time.
