They got together in the end… so does it really matter?? Haha

And Ross was to blame. He shouldn’t have slept with the skanky copy place girl. A break isn’t a breakup, it’s just time to cool it 🙂

lol  I would say Both.  Neither of them communicated what being on a break meant and got burned by it.  But as they say, all’s well that ends well.

ETA: 15 years?!  No way has it been that long!  That’s insane!

I think Rachel was to blame. It was pretty clear they were on a break, which to me is exactly like a breakup. I think that’s why people aruge about this – it’s all about how you define a break!

And holy cow – 15 years?? Wow.

Holy crap, it’s been 15 years? What?! It feels like it was only 5 years ago…

Anyway, I agree that both were to blame. (Watch me talk about TV show characters like they’re real people.) – Rachel was not nearly communicative enough but I think that Ross should have valued the relationship enough not to sleep with the copy girl right away.

I think Rachel. If you are on a break, you are on a break. What Ross did wasn’t particularly cruel, it was human nature. She had a right to feel hurt, but ultimately shot herself in the foot by clinging and wallowing in that hurt.

OMG I saw this post title and was HOPING it was about Friends!!!!

I totally think that Ross did nothing wrong–they were on a break, he was drunk and sad and alone. Was he acting crazy before he and Rachel broke up? Yes. Was Rachel justified in being upset that he slept with someone else while they were broken up? Yes. But they were, in fact, BROKEN UP. It’s NOT cheating.

I agree that it was both of them.  A lot of people think of breaks as different things (some mean it as a break up and some mean it as time apart where you don’t date anyone).  I don’t think he should have gone out and slept with the first person he found though.

    Rachel was wrong! haha.

If this exact situation happened to us, and I initiated the break and my Boyfriend or Best Friend cheated, I would gather my ego and put the copy place girl behind me. That is, if it was my hubby. Any of my other BFs i would have told them never to call me again, b/c I’m decisive like that. Funny enough i was JUST telling a coworker 2 reasons I broke up with past boyfriends (if you’re wondering – one popped an inflatable joust, the other wanted to chat too much when I was doing an art project). hehe
