    It’s highly variable — some get 100% some get 40% it all depends on who you invite, their distance to your wedding, the timing of your wedding, etc. So, the responses here might not be helpful for your situation.

    You should always assume 100% attendance and only invite as many as you can fit and afford. It sounds like you are OK in terms of fit, so just don’t invite any more and soon enough you’ll know how many are coming.

    We invited 46 people, and 42 came!

    All four who RSVP’d no were from my side.

    We only had 3/45 who RSVPed yes not show up. One had an aunt in the hospital so she warned us she might not make it, the other couple had their travel plans fall through so they told us no the night before.

    @perfectingfaith:  It’s rude to have tiers of guests (“b lists”, “backups”)…imagine how you’d feel if you were invited as a second choice? And yes, people do find out that they were invited later on.

    @perfectingfaith:  I have two friends in nursing school that I invited just a few days before the wedding. They knew that we were planning a very small wedding. I was honest and told them that some of our out of town relatives had to cancel and I’d love it if they came to the wedding. They accepted and had a great time. I don’t see the point to being sneaky about it. They’ll know anyways.

    @perfectingfaith:  I read your question wrong lol we had 2 no shows. I think we had so few because it was a holiday weekend.

    I invited 125 guests and 45% of that showed up… yep. I only had 60 guests and the wedding took place only 45 minutes away from where 90% of the guests lived. Honestly, all of the OOT guests showed (2 or more hrs away from the wedding)! And it wasn’t held on a tuesday at noon or anything like that. It was a Saturday wedding held at 6pm.

    @lindseyl06:  Woah.

    Did they RSVP Yes & then not show up, or did that huge number of them RSVP No to begin with?

    @Kat:  We didn’t hardly get any RSVPs back and the guests who DID rsvp DID NOT show up!!! NO call no show!!! No reason at all! SO rude. I haven’t seen these guests since the wedding and I don’t know what to say to them when I do. I’m really upset with them. BTW, this is mostly his side of the family.
