Tylenol is the pain reliever that you can take. I would guess you are about 4 weeks. You don’t have to get the blood work done, unless you doubt the positive. Also, it’d be a good opportunity to ask about things like the BC pills.

I can’t tell if you are excited or not, but congratulations! I hope it is a happy, healthy time for you.

ETA: I couldn’t take prenatals throughout most of my pregnancy because the make me vomit, so I think you’re ok.

As for avoiding things – the obvious – caffine, alcohol, smoke and any foods with a higher chance of food poisioning (raw eggs and meat). For drugs – check the labels.

Call for an appointment soon, but some doctors won’t even see you till 8 weeks. Taking prenatals and waiting is all you can do till then. 🙂

My doctor saw me to confirm at 5 weeks, and I have an Ultra Sound tomorrow (I am 7 weeks). So I would go ahead and make sure you just call and see when they would like to see you.

I think you are fine on the prenatals. Some women don’t start them until the Doctor suggests what brand to take.

Tylenol is the pain killer you can have. And if you want coffee limit it to one cup of whatever you have a day. I also read to be careful on what artificial sweeteners to use (Splenda is okay) and how often you use them.

Congrats! I hope you have a happy healthy pregnancy!

Call the doctor regarding the BC, but I would assume that you should stop taking it.  As far as when you concieved, it probably was this month.  Don’t worry about not taking the prenatals – just make sure you start taking them ASAP and start eating right.

Congrats!!!  It’s an exciting time!

Stop freaking yourself out, women were giving birth for millennias before doctors started scaring the crap out of us about prenatel care. Which is very important, but do not stress, the main thing is you know now and you can now get on track with all the modern day insanity that goes with being pregnant and having kids.
