With a full eternity band you can’t get it sized as there’s no metal to add or remove. Also you’ll be banging diamonds tables, desks, etc every time you put your hand down.

Id say 1/2 or 3/4

@asb983:  I’m getting diamonds 3/4 of the way around  I also hate the idea of the ring spinning but I also want the ability to resize in the future. This was a happy compromise 🙂

I went with a 1/2 eternity. It was important to me to be able to resize the ring, as I plan to wear it for the rest of my life, and lets be honest- most people’s size/bodies change with time, pregnancy, even health conditions like arthritis.

I did 3/4 but sort of regret it now — I think that 1/2 would be more comfortable. Also I can’t do my hair with my ring on because it gets all caught up (I have prong setting so if you had channel set that wouldn’t be an issue)

I think that in a few years I will get my rings redone with some of the diamonds from the band made into a setting for my e ring so that both have a similar look

I have a 3/4 eternity band (just got married yesterday!!!) and I really love it so far. Nice that I can have it sized in the future.

I have two full eternity bands because I as well did not want to sodder them together.  I don’t regret getting them, I love that they can spin all they want without me adjusting them and as silly as it sounds, I love having the feel of diamonds all around my finger and the meaning behind the true “eternity” bands.  However, if I were to do it again I would probably get just a teensy bit of metal (maybe 3/4 eternity, but I’ve seen even less metal than that and I would prefer that) for the sizing capabilities.

I have a 1/2 eternity band because I just couldn’t justify paying so much extra money for diamonds that I wouldn’t even see. (The 1/2 was $1200 already and I didn’t want to pay more.)

However, I will admit that I do sometimes end up twisting my band right side up after it shifts to one side or the other, and while it doesn’t really bother me, I could see it getting on someone else’s nerves. If money were not an object I probably wouldn’t have minded a 3/4 eternity band just so that I could still have it resized if necessary during pregnancy, etc.

Full diamond bands tend to have the diamonds fall out

I have a half eternity petite band. I love it…well, I will in 7 weeks when I get to wear it longer than a few minutes. I never wanted an eternity because I find them uncomfortable and would worry about damaging the diamonds underneath. So half it was!

@asb983:  I have a 3/4 and I love it- because of the way my band is shaped, it doesn’t spin much.  It’s lock-set (which is like a bezel setting with open sides for cleaning) so it sits flush and doesn’t get caught on things. I would not have opted for a full eternity because, as a PP said, I would have felt terrible banging the diamonds on everything!

It’s probably more like a 2/3 than a true 3/4 because the stones don’t go all the way to the bottom, but its more than a half.

I have a 3/4 band ordered and I should be able to pick it up tomorrow.  It was supposed to be a half but I didn’t want any of the band to show from the top.  This allows for sizing.  I am having a euro shank put on it so that it won’t spin.  I can post pics tomorrow, I hope. 🙂
