- Wedding: August 2012
Alright, so I need a little bit of advice here. I’ve seen lots of Fifty Flowers boards, so I apologize for yet another one, but I’ve yet to see a post about my specific question(s)!
Okay, so I live in Phoenix and am getting married in August. Phoenix in August is EXTREMELY hot (110+ degrees) and I’m worried about ordering wholesale flowers online & them dying in shipment. I’ve read that they can wilt & look sad when they are delivered, but I’m afraid that they will flat-out die & won’t be able to be brought back (oh no!). Has anyone had their flowers ship in extremely hot temperatures & they come out okay? Is there a point of no return with them getting too overheated in shipment? I am looking into ordering garden roses & rose petals, if that makes a difference.
Second: my actual wedding venue is in Flagstaff, about 2 hours from Phoenix, where I would have them delivered. I was thinking of having the flowers shipped to Phoenix and then transport them myself the 2 hours to Flagstaff. I know I could get them shipped straight to Flagstaff, but I’m worried that they will spend too much time dying in a delivery vheicle. Have any of you driven 2 hours with your wholesale flowers? Any experiences/advice you’d like to share?
These will be the only flowers for our wedding. We are sticking to a very rustic theme & are going minimal on the flowers; I’m even using an artificial bouquet! We spent our buget on what really matters to us, photography & videography, so that leaves us with a very minimal flower budget. I’ve really only looked at Fifty Flowers, but are there any other companies/options anyone can recommend for flower DIY?
