- Wedding: October 2015
We’ve been engaged since february and I’d been feeling just slightly frustrated because our wedding’s so far off, we haven’t told people yet, and Fiance wanted to cross the planning bridge when we come to it, whereas I’d be pleased as a peach to plan obsessively for the next 2 years straight.
We just spent the last weekend together (we’re semi-long distance ATM) and the whole thing was just lovely, and among other things we had like a 2-hour wedding talk!! We talk about the future a good bit, but it’s usually about our dream house or where we’ll be in between, and I never want to bring up wedding stuff cause I’m so afraid of annoying him (even though he has never been annoyed by it). We were talking about trampolines and I mentioned the story I read about a couple who registered for a trampoline, and he took off on it! We talked about what kind of stuff we’d want to register for (yes on stuff for our dragon room, no on fancy china), how many of the 15 different pre-wedding parties we wanted to have (I wanted 0, we compromised on 3. I never would have guessed he cared about an engagement party!) I told him I wanted no priests and no banquet halls, and we agreed that a backyard wedding is really the best option. He was most adamant about (and brought this up out of the blue) about what I would wear under my wedding dress, haha. He said he wants to imagine it during the ceremony and be able to “consumate” without undressing. (sorry if TMI!) I had been planning on wearing comfy stuff during the wedding then changing, since no one would know and I could wear sweatpants if I wanted under my ballgown. I hesitated for a moment cause ew, sweating all over a lace thong all day, but then I realized how silly it would be to not grant my husband that one request on our wedding day 😉 So that’s a thing I can shop for now. He also liked the candy buffet/desert bar idea (I showed him some gloriously color-coordinated inspiration pics and confessed my love for apothecary jars) and he gave me the go-ahead to start buying up glassware whenever I find a good deal! Glassware is one of my favorite things in the whole world, so this is awesome, I finally have something wedding-related to do besides daydream and twiddle my thumbs!
